Morning everyone. Not much os going on here,so I havent been on in a few days. I've kept my spending diary going. I need to sit down with it today and see if I'll manage to stay out of my overdraft, fingers crossed.
Yesterday I had an operation, I'm a little sore and dizzy today. I've managed a little housework and I'll manage to get the girls to school. But today is going to be a jammie day, haven't had one in ages:) Tesco man might get a bit of a shock but ah well. I'll have to ask him to put the grocceries on the worktop for me as I can't really bend over.
Doggies won't get a walk today, but I'll let them in the house so they have my company. Mum's dog went home on Sunday and her refused to go into their house. He must love it hereLucky for him he's coming back on Thursday for a night.
I'm quiet looking forward to having a guilt free day of doing nothing, sleeping and catching up on tv
I hope all the poorlies get better soon.LBM 04/10:j

Morning all  - typical autumnal morning here. [STRIKE]Chilly[/STRIKE] Fresh, misty horizon, damp feel to the air - but still no overnight rain
.
ButterflyBrain - Well Done on your New Year Sales Fund :j.
TTFTM - thanks for starting today's thread. Sorry to hear that you had such a rough day and that the week ahead doesn't look any brighter ((((hugs)))). at that Exam information!
JackieO - hope you enjoy last night's Downton - I did - and Good Luck for tonight's quiz evening.
candlelight - at least you remembered birthday cards before and not after, like I did. It's so easy to get 'caught out' without realising.
Hester - have a good day in work! I luv hearing about your work exploits - brings back so many memories of when I worked in a Senior School years ago :rotfl:. I just don't envy you having to deal with all those horrendous cuts whilst seeing obvious 'money pits' that just drain away Education Resources - I had enough of that kind of idiocy just before I retired .
sistercas - Fruitcake for brekkie sounds good to me . Done that many a time - baked a cake and then forgotten how long I had to sit up to wait for it to bake and cool down again.
camelot - what a shame at having to just burn those floorboards in a bonfire. Hope your DD has a good day visiting her grandparents - how lovely of her
.
tru - Best of Luck with 'Sammy Snake' - are you working to a pattern? I've now got visions of him lying along the back of your sofa with a glint in his eye as people go to sit down by him.
Totally forgot about yesterday's laundry till OH remembered around 10.00pm and 'begrudgingly offered' to go outside to bring it back in again - of course, it was damp and cold again by that time. Managed to fold/hang it on the airer overnight and it's not far off being dry - I'll just leave it there all day to fully 'air out' then put it away.
Unfortunately, I also forgot to 'remake' the bed, so we slept on the cotton mattress cover - pillows with just their liners on - and the duvet without its cover . I woke during the night freezing cold with OH throwing his heavyweight dressing gown over my 'bare bum'. When I woke this morning, he was rolled up, a la sausage roll, in the entire 'super-king duvet' - and I thought he had been 'thoughtful' throwing the dressing-gown over me !
Plans for today include- DD visiting this morning to go to the local Garden Centre. She wants a 'Veronica/Hebe' in memory of my Mum (Veronica Prudence - don't laugh
). She wants to put a little bit of mum's ashes into the bottom of the pot - just hope she looks after it properly and doesn't just let it fail :undecided.
- Family History Group this afternoon - not been able to go to this for a couple of weeks, so really looking forward to it :j.
- Must also remember to remake that flipping bed - not spending another night like that :rotfl:.
Thinking about all our 'poorlies' -and
for all who need them for other reasons.
It's now time for another coffee and a piece of toast - speak again later - luv Lilyplonk xxx0 - DD visiting this morning to go to the local Garden Centre. She wants a 'Veronica/Hebe' in memory of my Mum (Veronica Prudence - don't laugh

Morning (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) if you eed one.
Hester nothing changes, both OH and I worked in the civil service. Each February they started throwing perfectly good stuff out and bought new, it was coming to the end of the fiscal year, and if they had not spent all the money it had to be paid back and the amount given would be reduced for the next year.
Very cold morning down to 5c in the garden.
Up early to take the car in for service then go to the library. OH is staying to do some research. I will walk down to the market and get what few bits I need and maybe walk home. It depends on the time. Our bus only runs once an hour. So trainers on. OH will pick the car up later.0 -
Good Morning everyone, it's officially the first day of autumn today and we are damp and misty here in the deep south, made me think 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' from the Keats poem when I opened the curtains this morning. It's not cold though so I have hopes of a nice sunny day when the mist burns off.
We had Swedish Rice Porridge this morning for breakfast with a nut of butter and cinnamon sugar the first of our cold weather breakfasts and it's so delicious. Tomorrow I'll make Porridge Pancakes, an oaty version of Drop Scones and sometimes we have Journey Cakes, the cornmeal version from America, all delicious and filling to start the day.
Off to the hairdressers today and very pleased to do so as my little hairdresser got married early in the month and has been away on honeymoon since then and I'm a good 3 weeks late for my normal appointment and feel like a hairy sheep. I was due to go to the dentist tomorrow but my dentist has been delayed coming back from abroad and I've had to rearrange for next month. We had the chimney swept yesterday and are now ready to lay the first fire when we need it. I like getting all the jobs ticked off the list and that feeling of being ready for the colder months, makes me feel secure.
Have yourselves a lovely day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -

Morning all,
Hope you all had a nice weekend, we had a local holiday here so it's pretend Monday today! Kept thinking yesterday was Sunday and got myself very confused that Boots was open so late haha
Been a rather quiet weekend here though did get the laundry done, ironing done and kitchen cleaned. Baked banana bread and banana muffins (though the latter did not turn out like any muffin I've ever seen!). Listed the last of my Ann Summers kit on facebook and got some bits sold with a few more promises to buy on return from holidays etc. Went to the cinema yesterday and saw both S*x Tape (hilarious) and Lucy (really good also), I have taken out my unlimited card again and hope to make good use of it. I had one before and used it loads but in my last relationship he didn't like movies and I ended up never getting to go so cancelled it.
Nothing major planned for today, work then gym and a trip to Asda on the way back. Won't need much as I'm away at the end of the week for two weeks so trying to use up what I have in the house. I have an appointment with the doctor to discuss my food issues, I thought I had it under control by avoiding dairy but it's been bad recently in spite of that. I've also been having a tough time losing weight again and am worried that whatever is wrong might be causing issues there too.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night TTFTM, I'm sure I saw people suggest you visit the doctor, did you get an appt?
Must be a man thing Lily I often wake up with no covers too!
Hope you feel better Caz, am sure the delivery man sees enough folk in their jammies to not notice!
Hugs to those who want/need them.
Have a nice day

A lovely morning here so the washing machine is on and I am catching up with some washing.
DH is out mowing the back and front gardens so that should be the final cut ofthe year depending on the weather.
Took out the courgette plants yesterday and am taking the runner beans out at the weekend
Thanks for the compliment sistercas, it comes on the back of your brilliant idea of the sistercas fund which I do every year now.
I have spent a lot of it already on presents, but that is what it is there for isn't itOnly have to get a couple more for DD and something for the outlaws and I am done and I have most of the food and sweets already, so basically I only have fresh stuff to get now :jI should have about £50 left to carry over for next year
I hope your DD is ok xxx
The "coupon and lotto "pot just came into my head if you think about it you don't really class coupon money as spare, it just goes straight off the shopping and you forget it, but if you look at it as extra "money" and put that money in a pot, you don't really miss it, the same goes for lotto wins small or large.
cazmcf take it easy today, you only had your op yesterday, let your body recover slowly no matter how long it takes, I have learned that after many operations and now I let my body decide when I am ready to do things after an op (((Hugs))) xx
When DH has finished we are off up to the farm to get some of their lovely pork, potatoes, eggs, coal and logs.
Special ((((((Hugs)))))) for Marie, Molly, Hilly, Elona's DH, Penpin and anyone else who just needs one
Must get on

Hi everyone,
I'm pleased to report that mother and babe are doing well. It's a boy called Isaac and he weighed 6lb 8oz, which considering how concerned they were about his size and that he was 3 weeks early, is amazing. He didn't need any special care. Despite having twice a week scans for the last month they managed not to find out the sex beforehand, which I think is pretty heroic.
I spent the day quilting a spiral on the quilt I've made for him, I just need to sew the binding on before Thursday.
I'm going out to pick sloes for gin today - we found loads on our walk on Saturday but didn't have any containers. I'll also get some blackberries and maybe some crabapples, although I don't know if I'll have time for the prep of those.
Have a good day.0 -
Congratulations Snoozer :T Glad that Mum and baby are doing well xxx

Morning all,
cazmcf - Hope you recover quickly. I wouldn't worry about the Tesco man. Expect you aren't the only one in jammies!
Lovely morning here again. Towels on the line and dinner: Beef and veg in the slow cooker. Will probably make dumplings to go with it.
Been for a walk and coffee with my friend this morning.
BIL sent a text last night saying they would probably let him home on Wednesday, can't believe he is recovering so quickly.
DS2 has annoyed and upset me this morning. I know he was annoyed at himself really because he had not long come back from a driving lesson in which he'd done a mock test and failed on one thing, but he was hurtful all the same. Maybe I'm too sensitive...
Anyway hope you all have a lovely day0
