This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Tired again, had a half decent sleep until 4am then woke up with a coughing spasm and neither DH or I could get back to sleep after that.
Bad day at work yesterday telling staff that their jobs are at risk, I don't think this week is going to get any better
DH was telling me yesterday that his employers have decided 3 weeks into the term that English is now going to be taught as a IGCSE (International) as the exam is easier to pass. You really couldn't make it up.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

TTFTM thanks for starting the thread, and it sounds as though both you and DH need a hug.
Wide wake so thought I may aswell get up and have a coffee, Himself is still fast asleep.
Have to pop out this morning for a couple of birthday cards, this month has gone so quickly I hadn't realised the birthdays were so close.
Have a good day

TTFM, I know what you mean, I don't post half of what goes on because you'd all think I was mad. I'm struggling to get enough paper to complete my work because of budget constraints! But there is money for expensive flashy furniture for a VIP's office.
And breath!
Off to work soon, I have washing on the line, DW is only half full, tonight I need to make banana bread, chocolate brownies & to process some more blackberries I picked last night. I need to strip our bed too, I did it at the weekend but thevDGD was eating toast with us & so the bed is crumby.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all
Ttfm hope it improves at work and you are feeling a bit better
Butterfly brain what a good idea £172 :T
I'm off to work in a few minutes finish around 6 tonight.
I suddenly decided to make a fruitcake last night and had to wait up for it to cook lol. Left it to cool in the tin overnight , I've taken it out of the tin this morning and eaten a slice for breakfast:D. Think I'll take a piece to work too
Right must make an effort , have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning All
It has been raining! That's the first for a few weeks. I haven't got much washing so wont bother today, almost forgotten what it's like to have washing drying inside. DW emptied and packed lunch of ham salad made.
Need to get a move on this morning as I have to get the train to work, DD is away to see her grandparents in the car. Did as much painting as I could last night, I have run out of paint. I think a friend is going to pick some up for me later. Also had a bonfire - we have a big pile of old floorboards outside but as they have old paint on no-one wants them for fire wood. May have another one tonight but there is so much there I can see this going on for weeks!
JackieO - Glad you had a good time.
TTFTM - You should write all this down and pass it to your local MP. Hope you feel better soon.
Brain now gone dead so hope everyone is ok, hugs if you need one.
Have a good day. Take care. XX0 -

Lilyplonk No, my snake will have no use whatsoeverWe have double doors at the back and I made a (not really needed) huge draught excluder for that a few years ago. The front door is new and has no gaps

snoozer I hope all went well yesterday? xx
TTFTM I hope things improve for you soon xx
My snake isn't quite going as planned. I want to practise this week, then enjoy making it while I'm away. So far, I've managed to make the tail look like a triangle
The house is clean and tidy, the last of the washing from yesterday is on the line and I'm actually in quite a good moodI'm seeing my little mate for a couple of hours later, then having a peaceful afternoon to myself.

Morning all
Cooler here this morning again but really nice too, OH and I are still debating a log burner for the lounge, two things I am worried about are the smoky smell and the fire risk, I have a real thing about fire and make sure everything is turned off at night, perhaps its not for me :rotfl:
Off to work today I am on my own today with 5 clients so should be a busy day !
Meatballs and pasta for dinner looking forward to it and I must put a wash on.
Is anyone else still doing the sistercas xmas savings ? I have got over £400 in mine I have been putting £10 per month up and a bit extra here and there, I am going to use it for presents and the food and tree ! It will be so much easier this year :T
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone.
Rained overnight but dry at 5.00a.m. Had a great run down this morning, only one lorry ahead of me and that was at Loch Lomond. Very foggy in patches though and I got a little disorientated at one point.
Just having my banana and cashews for breakfast. I ate a whole load of blackberries last night and am fearful for a 'difficult' reaction.
NSD for me here. Have to have many many more of them now, yesterday I had to buy some cupboard door handles and found some lovely ones online.
Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.0 -
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Now light, light wispy cloud but dry underfoot and looks like sun will get out. Air feels much cooler too.
DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early. DS1 up and gone to work.
Dinner tonight will be fish, chips, beans and salad for the menfolk, for me jacket potato, fish and veg. Last nights' smoked sausage pasta was delicious as always and DS2 did majority of the cooking with my supervision.
Yesterday I sorted through a pile of DH’s papers and did a small job on the pc – he has a report to do tonight that’s now really urgent – we will get that done once we’ve eaten.
Take care x
Keep safe and well x
