Would you all judge me if I told you I'd started my Christmas shopping in july? :o

Its a good idea, I bought 1 gift for someone in February I think it was.

Sainsburys have had the Xmas xhocs, biscuits, snacks etc out since last month.
  • We've just returned from a month in Australia, where there was no sign of Christmas at all in any store we went into. Not a mention at all, which was great. Have to say, we were dreading our first visit to Sainsburys, where as someone else has pointed out, there is now a full aisle of chocs, biscuits etc, as well as the mince pies!

I love the deluge of threads posted in the Praise, Vent & Warn section during the festive period!

    "Insert Retailer" ruined my xmas

Do we all remember the emotional turkey cooking thread. Biggest laugh all year.

    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥
  • I saw some mince pies in Sainsbury's yesterday, just a little stack but it begins!

Sainsbury's sell mince pies all year round.

No. :) It's a good idea to be prepared and get stuff early.

We don't, but we used to, when the kids were younger. They are grown now. My wife used to sit there with the Ace Gifts and Cards catalogue, ordering loads of stuff in July, August, and September, and we would get stuff from the shops for the kids (and other family members,) from June onwards to be honest!

We wouldn't get much food til November-ish, but we did get the booze in October time.

We don't bother doing anything, or even thinking about it now til mid November, but when you have young kids, it's a good idea to start early.

Edited to say: Although I think it's a good idea to start planning early; I do hate Christmas being shoved down my throat in Mid September.
    You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:

She won't be posting this year as Waitrose aren't doing a boneless turkey for ordering :D

M&S do one though! I ordered mine today - took nearly half an hour as I'm the first one to order from that store so it took 3 staff members to work out the system. I now need to drink the free bottle of wine they gave me to get over the "trauma". :T

Oh dear, I've bought several presents for Christmas at the weekend, granted it's early even for me!

Usually get done in November because I simply can't tolerate the shops (or the shoppers) in December - it's like a !!!!!!!g rugby scrum!

Roll on the tat on the shelves being joined by Slade &/or Wizard blasting out over the speakers......NOT!!! Still, could be worse.............Sir Cliff!!***!
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
