I've managed to control my cravings with crochet and knitting, as well as the support from everyone on this thread
I realised I've been a smoker for over half of my life (I'm 31, I started at 15!) and it's a scary to think of how much money I've wasted, but I'm seeing the savings start to add up! Treated myself to some wool I never would have been able to afford if I was still smoking, obviously paid for out of my stop smoking savings, which has made me more positive about using my craft as an aid as I can make some really pretty (and practical!) things. It's also helping with the 'down' feeling as I feel proud if myself when I finish something.

Well done you. Treat yourself to a nice little bottle of a flavoured juice like menthol or aniseed. My wife finds coffee flavour very relaxing.0 -
Hi all!
I am a little bit behind I'm afraid as I am on Champix and so smoked the first week of taking the tablets. My big day is tomorrow and I'm actually excited! Not getting much enjoyment from cigs anymore and for the last two days I've only been having halves - plus I've cut right back. Really want this :-)
And to top it off, my DH has just started week 5 of no smoking by using an e cig. He has done amazingly, I'm so proud xMFW!

Hi all, hope Day 9 has been kind to you. Thanks for your help yesterday Glyn I bought a few new cleomiser things but aim to be off the e cig in eight weeks, and I'd never buy the flavoured vapours. The nicotine one I've got is quite rough and yuk.
I've managed to eat my way through the day for the first time and feel a bit sick - think my tongue is coming back to life - just had two buttered rolls and think the butter is off, argh.
Have a good evening and thank god it's day 10 tomorrow, I'm rubbish at maths and don't know what 9 x £8.75 is - but tomorrow will be easy! Cheers!£216 saved 24 October 20140 -

Sounds like you need to go to a shop where you can try a couple of liquids to see which one suits your palette best.
I gave away five clearomisers this morning to a friend who's just starting with e-cigs.0 -
You gave away five, lucky friend, I paid £2.50 each for mine!
Personally I don't want to like the vapour, I am just using it as a prop for the moment and hope to wean myself off it in eight weeks.
I have, however, just discovered how much I like chai tea by teapigs - smells and tastes lovely! Cheers till tomorrow!£216 saved 24 October 20140 -
Day 9 done. It's getting easier. Do still have a few wobbles due to stress in work. I just want out if there.
Am applying for jobs. I had a rejection letter after I spent most of Saturday hand writing the application. But they said thank me for taking the time to completing the forms and I did have the skills they required but they felt other candidates suited the role. Piff. So yeah that's how I keep my hands busy. I'm determined to get 3 or 4 part time jobs working for different retailers so I can get staff discount.
I hope it's getting easier for everyone now. Saved over £50. Double figures tomorrow over a 3rd way through. :T16/10/2016 £9176.11 paid off 13/01/2017

I'm just off to bed for day 10 wake up.
Good luck Woodster, and read any of your contracts very carefully my son was told that his employer had legal rights as his 'primary' employer even though he only worked for them on a part time basis.
and good luck bella165, get well soon. if you try that freebie don't keep it in one side of your mouth, my friend still does nicotine lozenges and has knacked his gums.
Night night it's freezing here, at least I've got enough saved for an electric blanket!£216 saved 24 October 20140 -
I'm a bit late to the party, but can I join in?
I usually smoke 6 roll ups a day, but have finished my university course now and the stress has gone, so I'm finding I don't really want to smoke more than two.
Today's the day though, as I've decided to give up completely. I also have health issues which are affected by smoking and the last time I saw my consultant she wrote a letter to my GP saying that I've refused to stop smoking. I was so embarrassed. So, here I go.
Wish me luck
