Ebay Scam ?

can't believe I'm first to spot this, but cannot see any other refence to it.
Bought digital home phone last night - only 99p so didn't think much of it. However, after paying I did a quick check on the 22 positive feedbacks - all gained in past week from buying 1p e-books... the seller sold loads of phones in the space of 30 mins or so last night - some people paying £20+
Now I suspect no-one's going to get their phones and the seller will 'do a runner' - but is this a new one ? Surely Ebay can spot these easily ? I clicked on the feedback of one of the 1p e-book sellers and sure enough many of the buyers are merely building up accounts with positive feedback, preparing to strike
Maybe I'll get my 99p phone - I won't be watching the postbox...

Dodgy... do not risk it0

Yes this one looks dodgy to me. 1. He is registered as from Staffordshire but the item location is Hertford. 2. 253 items all ending on a Thursday night - what a posting nightmare, hope I'm not in the queue behind him at the post office! 3. All 'library' photos, ie. not the actual items.
Perhaps he is a new genuine seller doing a drop shipping exercise? If so I hope the supplier is well geared up! I will keep an eye on this one.0 -
Dodgy.... I agree

If you going to do it - do it Thursday night as the weekend post means people won't start getting suspicious until Monday - plenty of time to clear the account.
I'll chase it through Ebay - as I say it would be dead easy for the Fraud Team to spot these as people build up a trail of low value purchases. What I'm not sure is how they get around the reference checks - don't you need to register a valid credit card to receive money on paypal ?0 -

I suspect, looking at the time and date of the purchase, that is the online equivilent of "so long, suckers..."0 -
I bid for & won 2 of these phones. I received an e-mail today saying my 1st purchase (Monday) was being despatched today. Fingers crossed it comes.0
