Unfortunately dad refuses to use a pill organizer so our solution is 2 old foil dishes and they are laid out ready with his breakfast in the morning, sister always takes her lunch break at dads so gives him pills with lunch then after tea he has his water bottle and bedtime pills by bed. This is a new strategy from yesterday. We had great trouble understanding the list sent home from hospital so phone up care team.
Although he was offered one of us stay the night last night he declined but obviously thought about it as is allowing my sister to stay tonight. Big breakthrough.
Today he is in 2 minds about staying at home or a care home.
He hates the disturbances of care team and refuses to leave a key in the key box. This will have to change.
The one cup is a great idea as long it is really boiling as dad likes his tea very hot. He had managed to make a cup yesterday in kitchen but said it was too much for him.
When carers come in at 9am they can give breakfast and pills if he has not managed to get into the kitchen.
The great worry is they refuse to give him any more transfusions due to leaking lungs. Not told dad this yet.
My sister is taking tomorrow off work and asking the pallative care nurse to come and talk through options with dad. She is also going to try to get the finance ball rolling.
To be honest everything has been so quick and prognosis so bad we have not bothered to apply for attendance allowance.
It is always the way that you feel at crisis point at the weekend when nothing can be done.
Today is 50 years since my Brother died so might be why dad has finally allowed someone to stay the night with him.

I agree. My pressie drawer Is sadly lacking in items I can use at Christmas. I keep thinking I am missing the grabbits....perhaps they are disappearing
My pressie drawer is full of mr shoes sale stuff so everyone can have a small pressie with gift cards to significant family.
Might as well gain some more points along the way.
This is not to say I am not looking for more gifts.
