Dating sites are not good for shy people with not much confidence and health issues.
A lot of your life seems to be defined by your health limitations. Very telling how you dismissed the idea of volunteering due to them. You may want to think about it.
What about support groups for people with similar conditions ?
As you have not mentioned any of your interests /hobbies I can understand why it may be difficult to you to find people to talk to /spend time with interests/hobbies /work is the main venue of finding people.
You may also want to ponder on.reasons past friends disappeared - divorce per se would be the reason for one or two dropping.of the picture but not most of them. And finally do not dismiss those couples that stayed friends , some activities /passtime can be engaged in even when you are single with a couple.
