look at techmoan on youtube he reviews many DVR dashcams, he claims but highly recommends the 0803 DVR dash cam is the best out there!. the night images are quite impressive.

I agree it seems really good reviews on amazon are positive

thanks all for your advise and input really helpful as always
People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

I've got a Nextbase 402g which I bought from Halfords. Hubby fitted it in ten minutes and positioned it to the above left of the rear view mirror.

    It's a Which Best Buy.

this one shows how clear night footage is which is one thing the OP is after, (even if it seems to be taken from a milk float...)

  • I thought you wanted something small and discreet?

Seems to have to get quite close before you can read a vehicles reg number.

Ive seen better clips from cheaper camera's.

I bought two of those from Amazon on the strength of Techmoans approval, the one in my car started making funny noises after 2 weeks, then the base slide fitting became loose causing poor connections, and it's only been removed twice...to reset it to stop the screeching noise...it's now been returned and refunded, thank goodness for Amazon customer service.

We'll see how number 2 fares.

he did mention in his vid that the cam did pop and hiss in audio perhaps a firmware update would be in order.

I didn't realize they had poor build, so many gave thumbs up on the camera, that I saw only a few negatives about stopping issues, like with everything you do get a few faulty products in every product that a company sells, I was going to buy it today infact but think i'll pass now, the Halfords ones look pretty poorly thought out, the cable hits the screen, and the quality on the lite and deluxe don't satisfy me, unless you want to spend £150 on a 402 pro cam which I don't.

OK for me its back tot he drawing board, perhaps i'll just wait a while and see whats out there.

My son's using the second one, i'll update this thread in due course, good or bad, when there's something to report.

Just one of those things i expect, like you i don't really want to go above £100.

Doesn't say how long the warranty is on the box but on the Halfords website it says 12 months (in the advice section).

Watch the review where you go into the shade of a building from a sunny position and it has a fit for a few seconds.

Thats OK for a £30 or £40 camera but not a £150 one.
