Advice urgently needed-crisis in my life!

if you are going to go down the renting / lodging route, some mortgage companies make this a condition that you notify them... they tend to be very strict on these points so check if this was a condition of the mortgage. I know it sounds like small detail, but if you dont tell them upfront and metion it at a later date it might invalidate your application and you could be out of pocket. This mostly applies to renting rather than lodgers, but do check just to cover yourself.
There is no doubt you are in a harsh situation, but a lot of people have been in a similar boat, similar thing happend to my mate and he had to move back in at parents for quite some time to save up again, its a real shame your story and shows why nurses should be paid more, £6k is shocking  .
But do you want my real advice - which may or may not be what you want to hear and please take this the constructive way... you are going to struggle a bit on those wages if you ever do live on your own.. might be time for a career change and move back in and work out what other careers pay more? It sounds like unhelpful advice, but i am 28, left school with 2 GCSE's at 16, went to work in a music shop, and music is my life, got to manager status and NEVER wanted to leave, but had to. I now earn £48k a year in IT research and although i dont enjoy it as much as the music shop, i was realistic and knew i needed to do something about my poor wages.
Plus presumably you will have a cut of the equity, you say you are in a house, you might have to bite the bullet and downsize to a flat, again not ideal but it means you are still living away from home. Plus i am sure there are grants etc available for key workers?
This is a very sad time for youi am sure, but this cold be a TURNING POINT if you want it to be.
I hope this is sort of helpful
I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk
