Long haul flights 2015

Does anyone know if prices are predicted to go up or down next year?
I know what the cheapest was last year for where I am going (South America) I just would like to know what to expect.
I guess with the change in APD they might stay the same or go down.

flights are like gambling no one know's, all you can do is track them for a while & pounce when you are happy with the price, then walk away & don't check again to avoid the grief of fluctuating prices0

Certainly no suggestion of falling prices to South America. The APD tax will go down, marginally, as the two highest bands are being removed so it will be a mere £71 as opposed to £85. However cynics suggest fare rises will mean there is no reduction in the price paid. Unless you are flying BA whose best prices are in the late December sale, sign up to KLM/Air France and Iberia (unless its Brazil when you have the delights of TAP to look forward to) and watch for the 'sales', being aware that much like a Curry's sale, the original price may not have been the real price for very long.0

Thanks for that. I didn't know about sign up to airlines. I normally buy via a scraper as I get a better price that way. How do I do that? Can I also do it from Avianca?0 -
Travelling to/from South America is rarely cheap, sadly.
You may get lucky - I got some relatively cheap flights (£540 return between LPB and LHR) with Avianca (Colombia's flag carrier) earlier this year, bought about 5 months before travel - so booking as early as possible isn't always the cheapest option. The booking process was weird though - they didn't take any money from my card initially, but called me back about 3 days later direct from Colombia (at about 10pm UK time) and went through the payment details in Spanish - although I guess English speaking staff are probably available...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

There have been lot of open jaw bargains to South America this year. With a total cost to most destinations at under £350. That included Carnival dates to Brazil.
For instance, this year:
15/05 Paris - (Sao Paolo - Santiago -) Lima
29/05 La Paz - (Lima - Sao Paolo) - London $440 or €336
I flew to Rio, Miami and New York this year for £550.. Going to Brazil again this year for around £350.0 -

You've done well there. I've seen these deals posted on holiday pirates but unfortunately they never seem to coincide with the dates I can travel, and/or have to be booked at too short notice to be useful to me.
I'm paying over £1000 open jaw return  for the forthcoming trip to Brazil and Argentina, although that is over Christmas/NY.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Strange...I had most of those dates open to me. Though I booked November and March. Same last year. No need for short notice. But I probably have more flexibility.
Though I didn't get all of mine via that website. I sometimes book before they are posted.
An example that I posted a couple of years ago.0 -

Where did you find them?0
