This weekend only, for travel between the 1st of September and the 30th of November.

A bit convoluted this one, so I'll post a few screenshots to illustrate.

Basically, you are flying out of Geneva for Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo. For Tokyo you'll be flying out of Amsterdam. Used in conjunction with a 15% off code. SPECIAL15UK for the UK website. If you are using your local Alitalia website, see their front page for the code. For instance the German website code will be SPECIAL15DE

You can fly back to another city, such as London. :)

Use eBookers or Kayak for your initial search and then book direct with the airline. Alitalia in this case(You have to choose Advanced Search). Multi flight options of course.

I'll illustrate with a few combinations.

You've seen it here first! ;)

Hopefully we won't have the same negativity as was seen in the Aeroflot thread. :)

As a comparison a direct flight with BA, LHR - GIG - LHR on the same dates = a very hefty £1078.49

So for a little donkey work and some added interest/adventure to your journey save a whopping £808.95 (minus approx £35 to get to GVA) Now that's money saving at it's best !

Yes, but do they offer the same selection of in-flight entertainment as BA? And what if the food tastes foreign?

All in all, I suggest that it would be worth paying a little bit more to fly on an airline that you can trust. And at least that little bit more money would be spent employing people working for a British company.

Despite your tongue being planted firmly in your cheek, BA's tiny entertainment screens in Economy are rubbish.

Though you can't really compare this deal with BA, as BA fly direct.
Air Portugal is around double the price. So one can look at it as a half price deal.
    Haven't checked alternatives for Tokyo.

    Still available.

    A couple of points:

1.- It you are going to Japan the food WILL taste foreing, so a couple of meals on a plane with European food shouldn't be such a big deal. Surely a few days without McDonalds is worth a holiday. By the way, on my BA flight 2 weeks ago I was served Chicken Tikka!

2.- In flight entertainment is pretty much standardised nowadays, give or take a couple of films or TV shows. Once again, if the highlight of a trip halfway around the world is the entertainment on the plane, you should maybe stick to caravaning in your garden.

3.- As per in flight service with BA... No comments. Even flying in Business class you get treated like cattle.

4.- From the top of my head, I think there have been more crashes with BA than Alitalia. I'd trust the safer airline as you suggest.

A bit of free advice: Get out more.
