MrsMP, have you costed out / thought of getting in men with a stump grinder? it may be a bit expensive but if there are 12 to do, they will have them done in a jiffy, and it whirrs away and grids down to get them out.
Another thing I have done in the past, (although I don't really recommed it :o ) is attach a heavy strong rope to the stump, and the other end to the tow bar of the land rover, and drive froward slowly / pull!! getting any one standing near by to stand well back!! :D :rotfl:

    Daily other stuff done
Misty here, waiting for that to clear then I want to cut the grass

  • thank you Kaz, hadnt thought of the first so will look into that thank you, we have a landy but no vehicle access into back garden so that is unfortunately out but does sound tempting. neighbour has lent me 3 of her spare garden bags so have just done a HHC filling those ready to be collected on friday with my 7. i think it will take us about 6 months to get rid of the clippings and small branches LOL

We did the forer once, well worth it. We've also used the chemical stuff , took years but did work, it was in a hedge so no bother, came apart like a big rotten tooth in the end. Neighbours did the Landi route with some conifer stump, took the front wall out with them!

    :eek:at the neighbours wall

just had a look it will cost £134 to hire one for a day with DH operating it. will talk to him about it later, thank you both. realisticly wouldnt go for the landy option even if we could get round the back as the roots are under our lawn and they are on the boundary between us and neighbours so wouldnt want to take half their lawn and patio up with the roots their side.:o

    Morning (just)

Not the best night here, DS shouted me at 3am that his bed was wet, then DD decided she wanted clean pjs too (?) I think she felt left out of all the bedroom fussing lol, but then I couldn't get back to sleep. Yawn.

Paid stuff here and first job now complete / awaiting comments so have had an early lunch and will start my next piece.

Bedding is washed and out to dry although still very murky here, they have promised us the sun later. I've slung another wash on just in case.

I've had my remaining elderberries simmering away whilst I've been working, this time I remembered the ginger :o so that's all bottled up and just needs labelling.

Right, I shall stop procrastinating and get on with it...

    Good afternoon :)

    Today I need to:

    Load & put on dishwasher
    Put away clean clothes
Put a load of laundry on
    Clean the iron
    Do ironing
    Tidy bedroom
    Tidy bathrooms
    Wash kitchen & bathroom floors
    Make soup

The study is an absolute state but it's all the boyfriend's paperwork, so I'm leaving that for him to sort out!
