    Not that it will help, but yes I am another person that managed on 12 hour shifts, on my own, in winter.

    Yes it was hard, we (and I think illegally) used to do overtime on top of it. I basically slept showered and worked those weeks, and nothing else.

    When I couldn't do anymore I changed jobs.....

    I cannot believe that someone reported a colleague for merely "looking tired". Assuming this is a genuine situation, Tir - were you caught asleep at work?

    No I appatently looked tired, but such observations can be pretty subjective
