Tyres (Yes, I Know....another one)
Hi
(I have trawled through previous posts but felt the need to ask....)
I need to replace my tyres (set of 4). I've always previously fitted Michelin Primacy3. They will be going on to a Vauxhall Insignia Diesel Est (if that makes any difference).
My main focus is in wet stopping and wear. Tyre noise is a consideration, i.e. don't really want to go above a 72dB rating.
Tires:
245x45xR18 W100
I generally find F1Autocentres quite competitive and their online price for 4 Michelin Primacy3 is £622 fitted).
Times are a bit tight so I'm looking at reducing the cost and am willing to compromise a bit on the main focuses above (stopping / wear).
And, as a proud MSEer I've just taken out a 0% credit card for purchases to help smooth the repayment costs (will also put the OH car insurance on it when it renews in October). I suppose if I could cut the costs by maybe £25 per tyre, £100 in total that would be good.
Anyone with any experiences??

If you can hear a 1db difference then you are better than most, I know plenty that have used budgets (myself included) and we have not ended up in a ditch, I don't know what the W rating is or am I going to look, branded tyres are often in a fixed cartel pricing, so offers are on none branded tyres and will vary from outlet to outlet.0

Blackcircles and mytyres etc will show ratings for your needs. I think it's tyreshopper that shows who is the cheapest.
You can book to have them done somewhere that will be cheaper than going there direct.
Kumho are often quoted as the best for budget-performance, I'd happily use them.0 -
From - or + £400 for 4 delivered , arrange your own fitting and balancing. About £10 a corner here in West Yorks . I have used the firm previously and was delighted at the saving and speed of delivery, less than 3 days from Poland to my door .
Your Primacy 3s come up at £516 .

Can you find Rainsport 3's or an equivalent quality A rated wet grip tyre for less than that?
Or do you mean you would entrust messrs Bodgit and Scarper accompanied by their bead slammers, lump hammers and tyre leavers with your mega expensive18" alloys?0 -

I give you that is a great price but for some reason when I clicked on your link it went to a different page on that site with much higher prices . Apologies !0 -
No probs Shammyjack, if you'd found them cheaper i wanted to know where....:beer:0

The OP was looking for savings and you gave them . Not convinced about some of the other attributes of the Rainsport tyres though . Oponeo do have some great mid brand tyres at very keen prices which would give the OP a big saving . I have found year by year that their winter tyre prices cannot usually be beaten. My Goodyear Ultragrip 8s are on their 3rd winter and were 30% less than anywhere else .0

There is a £25 discount offer on honestjohns website at Event tyres.
I have not done a search for any on there, but would have also suggested the rainsports mentioned earlier
