You've just made that up!
Weekly Hardware Chart 13th September 2014
Platform N. America Europe Japan Global
PS4 178,291 187,962 23,196 472,885
XOne 114,552 36,856 3,336 171,486

This week in Europe (includes UK) it's 187,962 vs 36,856 so XBox One is being hammered. Figures are high for both platforms due to Destiny boost.
While of course the difference is more than 10% overall (although they didn't specify a specific time or region for their claim), you can't accuse someone of inaccurate figures and then attempt to correct them using vgchartz!! :rotfl:

Peasant...
No harm in pointing out that there is a third way, and a better way.0 -
My husband currently has a PS3 - it is no longer reading games discs, it will play dvds and blue-rays but not games discs - very strange!
He is considering selling this (he will obviously let people know that the console is faulty just with games discs). Is it worth selling or should we just get rid of it?
He is driving me crazy with 'shall i get an xbox one or a ps4'?
I don't really care if i am honest but what do you guys think? Its a lot of money to make a mistake.
Thanks in advance.
That's not being flippant; these games can completely take over, to the point that time just evaporates and the real world is just an annoyance between gaming sessions.0 -
Neither - tell him to get a life!

I do hate how real life stops me gaming. Stoopid job and family!
In all honesty gaming is a bit of me time a few hours a week and helps me unwind if you don't take it too far it can be a good thing.
As for PS3 and xbox 1 has your partner played Xbox before because I hated play stations merely because I hated the controller0 -

My kids get on theirs and also run Skype to coordinate in a multi-user game with their friends; I think that's great.0 -
I agree - if you know when to stop, I think it can be beneficial.

Its extremely beneficial for mental stability, development, etc. PROVEN scientifically! That's why you have whole classes taking up playing Minecraft to assist learning materials.0 -

Why? There's nothing wrong with VGChartz. It uses official NPD data for the US, and other accessible data for a lot of other territories (ie Media Create for Japan), and best guesses for elsewhere and is never more than 10% out.
My point was that PS4 is consistently outselling XBox One by 5:1 ratio in Europe, though admittedly the gap is a lot closer in the UK.
I just had to point out that "PS4 is outselling XBox One by 10%" is grossly inaccurate.
I'm a games industry professional so follow this stuff - I recently finished a stint on a big Xbox One game so of course I want it to do well, but PS4 is running away with it at the moment....as it should do as it's a lot more powerful for the same money.0 -

Really? They use official NPD data? I think you'll find that they do not publish their sources - although they often have to correct their figures when NPD data proves them wrong, and sometimes it's closer to 250% out than your vgchartz-esque guess of "10% out". One example from the Wired article:
[vgchartz]’s treatment of Iron Man for the PlayStation 2, which VG Chartz had pegged at 53,000 copies — until NPD’s data came out with the game selling 130,000 copies.Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
