How would you envisage them asking.
its a cheap service using 'lifestyle' couriers.
Part of this model is the couriers get paid for delivered items,so they need outlets to do this first time to save costs/earn money.

Perhaps if they offered the ability to "contact us" on their website, this would be an idea...

Well that would be you contacting them.
Once again, this is a cheap courier. The likes of DPD offer what you are talking about.
    With a cost.

some sites do have "where to leave items" section BUT I never fill it out, because if buyer says its OK to leave an item in shed or whatever, then it goes missing, (or was never left at right house etc) the buyer has a bigger fight on his hands to get refund from seller bacause the buyer said this was a "safe" place to leave it.

I didn't see anywhere I could select the courier (third party seller on Amazon, it was from Lakeland- Amazon didn't sell this product, it wasn't about cost cutting, Amazon just didn't stock it themselves).
Additionally, I purchased something from Holland and Barratt which came yesterday, delivered from Hermes, no option to select a different courier there either.

Got to say, they sent me a courier with The Biggest attitude problem- I tried to make conversation as he faffed with his scanning machine and he cuts straight through with kissing his teeth and saying "I don't wanna hear it, just..."(and then cuts himself off) I then apologised, said I was just trying to make conversation and he starts up with "I don't want to speak to you" and then muffled something about a neighbour letting him into the block (I had already buzzed him in) and I apologised again, said again I was just trying to make conversation, just trying to be friendly and he gets really irate and starts back chatting me saying to keep quite and it just goes on! I closed the door saying he should try not being so nasty and all I can hear outside my door as he walks away is his shouting at me!

What on Earth?! I'm not sure if I take this experience back to Holland and Barratt- I get the feeling this guy had his knuckles rapt for not delivering the last parcel on time (the web page stated it was being delivered on a specific day but it never arrived despite me waiting in all day, it arrived last thing the next day but was taken in by a neighbour).

I have to say, despite the shoddiness, lateness and bizarre ideas of which address to leave past parcels at, I've not experienced a courier that shouts bad things at me before!
  • Hermes deliver to me on a Saturday.
However the other week I ordered something from Groupon which was on Hermes tracking as being delivered, customer signed for and I never received it. Groupon supposedly looking into it
