Hermes delivery question

Wasn't sure which board to put this in so apologies if I guessed wrong.


Just wondering if anyone has a clue what the info on an order details means with Hermes.


I've got an Amazon delivery due and the courier is Hermes. It's due any day now...or in the next week. I have just been sent through the tracking details from Hermes (I got the tracking number a week ago but only got the Hermes email earlier today).
So far it reads:

12/09/2014 08:32 Courier Received
12/09/2014 05:53 Out For Delivery
12/09/2014 01:45 Processed at Depot
12/09/2014 01:34 Receipt at Depot
11/09/2014 20:14 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan

And I just wondered if anyone has used Hermes and would be able to work out what that means in layman's terms, are we talking about this arriving in hours or days or weeks?

The courier has it and it will/should be delivered today.

Sadly it appears not....wont be delivered before Monday Just so annoying that their website makes it look like a delivery is imminent yet it's far from that.

You only get what you pay for I'm afraid. Let's hope it's dry on Monday if it's delivered and you're not there - as it will probably just be lobbed over your side gate:mad:

Curious why you say it won't be delivered before Monday..have you had updated tracking?

They work Saturdays (and possibly Sundays depending on your area) as well.

Just guessing, but many offices are not open weekends and often business addresses have no gardens or neighbours to leave things.
I'm in that situation and if the courier goes to the office on a weekend it 'll be all locked up.

...I don't have a side gate...but I do have some "lovely" neighbours who tried to burgle me a few years back, I worry for Monday...

IME no courier delivers to anywhere on the weekend unless you've paid for the premium service. I didn't.

Just to add further to the confusion, two more parts have been added to the tracking info.

I'm guessing that means out for delivery this time....or does it....


I can't wait in anyway, too much to do as a direct result of staying inside all of yesterday! Got the ironing done but after taking that time off to just sit inside all day I'm now back-peddling to try to catch up on myself. Tried waiting in again today after seeing the additional info but it would appear that yet again I am at the end of the delivery list when it comes to courier deliveries, I doubt it will arrive much before 8pm anyway and there is no way I can hang around waiting for this.


Note to self, just go to the shop next time or don't bother!

Some items I have ordered from Amazon using their Super Saver Free Delivery have been delivered on a Saturday and Sunday.

They were all via Hermes which I believe use local self employed couriers to delivery the last part of the journey to your letterbox.

This was the tracking I got:

It arrived about 10 mins after I left home (I'd stayed as long as I possibly could). Was left with a neighbour who I know isn't at home very often, I'm hoping to collect it some time soon but at least it's here, somewhere.
