Indeed not 4cr, I am a retired diplomat, I worked mainly in immigration, nationality, and consular services and managing two medium sized embassies.

I spent over five years as an entry clearance officer in Dhaka and Lagos, I have heard every lie known to man, is it any wonder that I am a cynic.

If you really wanted to play devils advocate you could do the above and make your own blue badge, most ppc signs that i have seen do not define a valid blue badge, make your own, add some text and to make it valid give it an expiry date sometime in the future - ie 100 years hence.

    That sounds very tempting

TD - Did you ever come across German Ambassador Albert Gisy in your travels? A really charming man (and his wife, Sylvie) we had the pleasure of meeting in ZA.

Sorry to hijack your BB thread! :)

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Really lovely guy, and certainly not someone who would ever be concerned about where anyone figured on a pay scale.

Highly revered by the people of Malawi. Did so much for them. Possibly the most charming person I have ever met.

Well, I have finally got my Blue Badge "in view of the new information which I have provided", weasel words as I did not provide any, I concentrated on demolishing their reasons for refusing one.

I am now making a formal complaint to the C.E.O. that the first refusal discriminated against me, (and any other applicants who were similarly refused), under the Equality Act 2010, and that, in my case at least, due process has not been followed.

My application was a slam dunk issue, (I speak as someone accustomed to making life changing decisions in the Foreign Office), and the initial decision to refuse it appals me.

I wonder how many deserving but less aware others are refused on spurious grounds by poorly trained Council staff.

Park it in a Parent and Child spot with the BB showing on your dashboard. See what happens!
