What does this mean in terms of the appeal? Will I still follow the same process as the flowchart da_rule posted or am I in for a tricky one?

You appeal, and demand a popla code if they reject, they have bpa logos on their signs, you want to use the popla independent appeals. Do they have the bpa logo on their invoice to you ?

By the way take screenshots of their website showing the bpa logos, and none of the ipc

  • Hi Stroma + bazster,

    1. Yep two BPA logos on the back - can't seem to find any IAS logos however. Do you therefore recommend going down the BPA route even though, as you bazster mentioned, they are not on the BPA online list anymore?

    2. It says on the back I can only "appeal within 28 calendar days of the notice issue date, appeals received after this time will not be considered....should you make an appeal and it is unsuccessful, you will have he option to appeal to the POPLA service."

Why am I waiting for the 29 days to pass for the NTK if I cannot appeal after 28 days?

Yes wait for the NtK to arrive, when you appeal you specifically request a popla verification code if they reject. They are going to be knackered over this, you are not expected to know about them joining the ipc, unless you come here how else would you reasonably know?

  • I am sorry I keep on going back to this but on the note it specifically says that I cannot appeal after 28 days? Is that just a lie then?

THE DRIVER has 28 days to appeal to the PPC

if they do not appeal, the PPC must issue an NTK to the RK between 29 and 56 days after the event

this is why you are waiting 29 to 56 days, for the NTK , as you have a NTD so that wording applies to the driver only

its all explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread
  • Thanks, that makes sense now!

You appeal when the registered keeper receives a letter through the post, or in your case two. It's likely they know who you are as they don't ticket that much. The fact is the registered keeper could be different to the driver so best practice is to wait and see what they send the RK , and see how much they mess that stage up.
