Conkai parking fine - parked without ticket displayed

  • Hi everyone,

Thank you very much for all your replies!
Not exactly clear about the whole BPA/IAS situation but from what I have gathered you follow the same initial process (wait for the first letter, appeal and then wait for them to most likely reject the appeal), the only difference being that I have to finish it off with appealing to the IAS rather than BPA. Does that sound about right?

I'll take a photo first thing tomorrow morning when it's a bit lighter outside. What exactly are we looking for that is wrong on the sign? I checked yesterday and it definitely says that you have to display a valid parking ticket etc. :/
  • Oh and one more thing! Should I speak to the manager of the residency before I receive the NTK or do I have to wait to do that as well? What exactly are they able to do? After all I am pretty sure they employed the firm in the first place to come around and check tickets....

You speak to the manager of the residency straight away. If they employed the PPC, they should be able to tell the PPC to cancel the PCN. However chances are he will say it is out of his/her hands!

Especially if those hands are being greased. Not an uncommon arrangement in such circumstances.

We noticed that about the BPA still showing them on their list, on the thread Stroma started I think, telling everyone they'd moved to the IPC. But this will defo be an IAS appeal IMHO, hence waiting for the NTK letter and then spotting the errors in it.

Maybe but if they are still members of the BPA they must offer PoPLA otherwise they are in breach of the BPA CoP. And as members of the IPC they must offer the IAS otherwise they are in breach of the IPC CoP. So whichever one they offer they are going to breach someone's CoP!

I wonder if they will give the motorist a choice on which one is used ? Or they can appeal to both, now that would be interesting lol

    Hi everyone!

I have now taken a photo of the parking sign. You should be able to see it here: tinypic.com/r/2roq6p4/8

Is there anything I can go on here?

    Thanks

    That's bonkers.

They have now disappeared from the BPA's list of approved operators. Looks like SRS is indeed seeing if the grass is greener on the other side.

I can see the IPC's IAS "panel" of out-of-work lawyers struggling to keep up if one of the big boys jumps ship.
