this is the first year of buying from China so wanted to ask everyone when they think the last day to order from there so it's still in time for Christmas. I know it can normally take Upto 30 days so with Christmas coming its probably a bit dodgy to leave to late.

Personally I would consider it too late already to guarantee anything for Christmas, I bought the last of the things I needed as gifts over a week ago in the flash sale and am not even hopeful all those will arrive in time. Most of mine arrive in 30 days or so, although for the first time in ages I've just had one cancelled by AliExpress as seller hadn't dispatched after 10 days.

I won't be ordering for Christmas now either, although it can be as much down to customs here can't cope as China Post. That is why I never bother with Express delivery, I bought something once with Express and it got from mid China to Heathrow in 48 hours, amazing! but then sat in UK Customs for well over 2 weeks before being released with no charges due!

I have something that still shows as "Arrived Import Customs GB" on the 10-11-2014 yet Royal Mail delivered it on the 12th but even their website doesn't recognise the number a week after handing it over. Weird.

My recent delivery times have been 14, 19, 11 and 18 days so not too bad, just waiting for a couple more to come home to roost and I will ease up.

  • Scarves are a good buy. So far all of the ones I had were great. However jewellery has been a complete disappointment. Everything brakes after you use it twice. Also a bracelet gave a an awful rush

my last order arrived yesterday which took 15 days (shipped out 18/11/14) not bad at all to say delivery is a lot slower at the moment.

I am over the moon with my order and so will my son be

I'm glad other peoples purchases have gone well, most of mine have but I have 4 that are now 6 weeks from ordering and which have not been received, two from the same seller.

I opened disputes and just before they were due to be found in my favour sellers have extended the dispute time by another month, and there is nothing I can do about it. So bought early November, and dispute now times out end of january.

This has happened to me before, and in that case once the month had nearly passed again the dispute was extended for another month. Each of the orders was about £12 , so not a massive amount of money, but almost £50 in total that I can do nothing about.

Did they get as far as posting tracking numbers on the purchases?

I used to avoid sellers that quoted long processing times in favour of ones with only a few days, but lately I have been going on their feedback more -looking for 'fast shipping' comments.

I have a pair of trainers on the way (amongst many other things, can't help it!) that quoted a 30 day processing window but they actually shipped quickly within 3 days as their feedback suggested likely to happen.

Have you tried messaging them on the item sale page? the china sellers always seem to respond well to a "Hello friend, I hope you can ship this item soon as I really need it and I look forward to doing plenty good business with you again, regards" or such, nearly always ships shortly after.
