I went to apply for a loan with no previous bad credit but was knocked back to my surprise. After searching my credit score on Experian it came back as poor. After looking in to this it was due to me purchasing a laptop on very's buy it now pay later scheme. I bought the laptop and paid the cost well in advance. On my credit file there are 5 or 6 missed or late payments, to my astonishment I contacted very who said there was a £3-£4 delivery charge that I didn't pay at the very start so for the 5 months before I paid the laptop off in full they have marked my credit file each month for this £3 I was never aware of. I've been at uni and come back to get a loan to see this and I don't know what to do. All help will be much appreciated, it's also not shown up as me paying the full balance off yet despite it being well over a month go now.

You don't have a credit score as credit scores do not exist.
I suggest you pay the amount back, apologise to them profusely and see if they will remove the markers from your credit file.0 -
I paid it off well over a month ago, shall I just constantly contact them till they come to there senses and remove it?0

Did they ever send you a warning you were behind with something you should have paid? If not then tell them you think they have acted unfairly and you will be taking them to the Financial Ombudsman if they dont remove it.Still rolling rolling rolling......

I rang today and stated my innocence as at the end of the day if I knew I had to pay £4 I would of! they said they sent letters to my home address - where I wasn't living as I was at uni. Even when at home I hadn't received any letters. bit stuck as to what to do as i'm looking for an £8000 loan and don't want to apply to to many companies and harm it further. Does anybody know also what rough score is likely for banks to accept me0

There are now several posts on this forum about this scam perpetrated by those low-lives at Very. It's well past the time someone did something about it. OP - complain to them and demand they remove these illegitimate markers against your name. If you get nowhere then take it up with their regulator and maybe even the Information Commissioner's Office. In fact, even if you get a result you should still complain about them.0

Did you parents not keep hold of all letter you received to your home address? Were there any letters from Very in there?
If they sent you letters to the address you provided to them then unfortunately they are not at fault. That said I would say it is worth writing to them, explaining you were unaware of the charge and asking them to consider removing the entries from your file.conorgreen10 wrote: »Does anybody know also what rough score is likely for banks to accept meA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks a lot can you in detail tell me the process I should follow as I want to get a result and I'm not prepared to let them get away with this. What is the likelihood of these being removed? Cheers0

Try and find the other threads about this delivery charge from Very (I think they are in this section), and see if anyone reported a result when they complained.0 -

Looks like from the first post on page 2 of that that threatening very with the FOS over this may prompt removal?

Not sure why you asked this when the first response said that credit scores do not exist?0
