Yeah good one, inflict pain and injury on an animal for defaecating on 'your' land. You could also keep a shotgun handy and watch out for birds that dare to do their droppings on your land, or even worse on the car.

I'd recommend printing a copy of your deeds and talking the cat through the finer points of boundary line legislation. Alternatively, accept that we share the planet with other species who have as much right to use its land as humans do.

I'd hazard a guess that you don't have a garden then?:rotfl: or, at least, don't grow any food in it if you do.

Sounds a reasonable assumption to make here.

I would return the "free spirited" cats poo to the rightfull owners property, video cameras that also work at night are cheap as chips nowadays if they wanted proof it was their cats poo

I have cameras that's how I identified the neighbouring cat as the repeat offender. I've seen a fox as well once and another cat from down the road. The one down the road hasn't been back for ages since I chased her with a rake and the fox was one off according to the cameras.

It is some what ridiculous. Don't throw the cat's poop in front of the doors of the owner of the cat. Try send the cat when it is entering in your garden for 2 or 3 days. Then the cat won't come for some days. It is a pet. The owner should trained it in a way that where it should go for poop daily as a toilet. Try to chase for some days. Then it will be ok!

Read this three times, it makes no sense
  • Has anyone put down slate chippings and will it deter or attract cats?

I like the cocktail sticks idea, though time-consuming.

My own thoughts are revolving around having something spiky in the garden on bare earth, eg barbed wire or those carpet gripper things scattered around. You would need to put something attractive over it, so that it looked nice from your pov. I wouldn't imagine any cats would want to repeat the experience of coming into your garden after one or two experiences of finding they had pricked their paws by doing so.

Spiky stuff does work - bit harsh to bury it though - trying to deter the cats rather than injure them!
BBQ skewers stuck in soil pointing upwards between the plants seem to work - obv not suitable if children around.
Also netting or twine stretched across gaps works well.

Wrong, I have a large garden and enjoy it, as do my children and any free roaming animals that come and go as they please. S##t is part of life, setting up carpet grippers against cats is inhumane, bordering on sadistic.

Holiday Haggler I've been Money Tipped!
I personally get annoyed. I have the right to quietly enjoy my home without having to pick up cat mess all of the time. I have not chosen to own a cat, so why should I have to deal with it.

When I had a dog, if I let it poo all over the place - there would be uproar, but why is it perfectly acceptable for cat crap to be all over my garden.

If a cat comes anywhere near my house it will get sprayed with the hose.

You really are a disgraceful excuse for a human being.
Agree with what you say, my neighbours dog poos in my garden, so I have to clean it up.
I am a dog lover, have two of my own and six cats of which two use a tray the other don't. I would and have cleaned up after them.
I hate people who are out to hurt any animals, usually been bullied their selves, so lets bully cats etc etc.

Several easy answers have been given.

The easiest is get a cat yourself, a big ginger Tom from any rescue place will do. He will chase any other cats out.

Lion Poo works as someone else said with the added fertilization benefits.A motion sensor equipped water sprinkler also is a good one.

Or you could have a corner of your garden that you keep the soil turned over thereby making it the one spot the cat does his business.

All of these are pretty cheap measures. No violence required.

Cats do have the right to roam and if you were to harm one, then you would be the one liable to criminal prosecution. Returning the poo is not an option as there is no guarantee it is the neighbour's cat responsible. Even if you have cameras cats are sneaky.

Post the doings back to your neighbour. Put a small tray of food down with a couple of cheap biscuits in every now and then.

We did that and no more poop in our garden....
