>12 Monthsg'monday.
still have no idea what to do for birthday, ha will try figure this out today.
was out twice at weekend, and i think i only spent £20! ended my nights out at the point of "£5 for entry" - hell no thanks ill go home and eat some leftovers haha.
final gym bill came out last week, and today halifax card bill and mobile bill. so now im down to about £160 left for month. oh how quickly it disappears! 2 weeks as of today to make that last, should be doable as long as nothing crops up unexpected..0 -
Keeping everything crossed for no unexpected costs! I about had a heart attack when I saw my 6 month water bill. I've requested again for them to change my billing to monthly as I always forget when it's due and never know how much money to put aside for it and end up in this pickle!
Woohoo no more expensive gym!
We're going to airhop for my birthday to pretend we're 10 again! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
>12 Monthscheers haha. yeah im not surprised, i'd definitely prefer monthly.. each month brings unexpected costs so when you plan to save each month for that 6 month bill you'll end up using it elsewhere and then get whacked with the big bill.
airhop! googled it, what a great idea! defo would like to try that out sometime. im gonna look to see if theres anything fun back home.. unlikely!0 -
>12 MonthsSome time off work.
Rang HMRC to check up on tax rebate, apparently they have just sent out the calculation in the post, so should get that soonish and have a good idea of how much I've got from them to send to one of the cards. Likely the Bcard. Should hopefully somewhere near £6-800
Been thinking a lot about things, I'm thinking I'd like to really concentrate on paying off debts then finding some starting cash to just go travel the world. Don't wanna be too old before I'm able to do it!
Rang insurance company to say I sent you a notification to end my contract at renewal, she said its not up for renewal yet.. but she'll put a note on the account that it needs to be closed. I don't trust this "note" on my account, as I don't have anything in writing to confirm that.. so I shall just ring them up end of this month again.
Just updating my budget sheet.. Nice to see that gym membership of £52 now removed! I want to keep fit and such but at the moment really interested in increasing flexibility which I am doing at home, and going to group activities which I'm yet to do but definitely want to try.
Then just one more payment to Eon, and one more payment to insurance, then there'll be another £35.20 to go towards credit cards per month!
Had to bike ride into work last week due to tube strike, forgot how much I enjoyed the bike ride. Especially in the summer-ish weathers. Will try pick it up again, and will save another £3 a day.
Im actually back home-home with parent at the moment for this time off, Halifax card letters still come here and actually had a letter today which said that as of end of this year they will be increasing my interest rate due to my credit rating.
It went on to say that if I want to stop the increase I can talk to them and close the account and that I will no longer be able to use the account. I'm not sure what this means, whether it means I can keep the interest rate I have now and close it and then all I have to do is pay them back as normal and I just can't use the card anymore.. or I can close it by paying them back in full immediately?
will ring them up about it once I'm back and have all my card details in front of me0 -
>12 Monthsgot a little bit of money for birthday, so bought myself a kindle in the amazon prime sale today! I also had gift voucher left on my account so instead of the i think 60 quid I've got one a brand new one for 30! been really into reading more, including in bed etc so don't want the bright screen of a phone and having to squint
might try the kindle unlimited as idk if theres much point in buying ebooks outright.0 -
Hi!
I've been reading, but don't normally post. In terms of the Kindle there is a site called BookBub - if you sign up to it with your reading preferences it emails you every day with books that are free or nearly free on amazon within the genres you specify.
Also there are always loads of free books on Amazon so you don't have to spend money to read lots. Granted they aren't all good but it does save money

You can also e-mail yourself PDF's of popular books, your kindle has an e-mail address so if you really fancy a book google the book title and 'PDF', save the file and then e-mail it to your kindle! It's how I read all my books (I read before bed most nights, I find the free books on the kindle store really pants! Lots of erotic novels though if that's your thing!

>12 MonthsHad my week off, back to work. Back to life. Payday though, and my new kindle should arrive today hooray. Will look at what first ebook im going to get, i mostly only read on self-help guides, fitness, philosophy.
I got my letter from HMRC saying that I will be reimbursed just over £600! Not as much as I had hoped, but it is a nice chunk and as soon as it comes in I'll pay it onto my Barlcaycard. Need to call them though because it said it will be paid via what I requested 'in a few days'. I cant remember what I said how I wanted it paid, or whether I even did. Its been over a few days as the letter sent date as 12 July. I'll give them a call in a while just to clarify. (ofcourse using WeQ4U)
Great tip sauce thanks I haven't used a kindle before so unsure on what it can do, I read a lot off the internet anyway just would like a nice device to do most of it on. I'd only buy stuff i really know i want and cant get anywhere else.
I'm afraid erotic novels are not my thing haha. A girl I lived with once gave me a book to read saying it was a thriller i got 30 pages in and it basically turned into an erotic novel i could not believe how graphic it was, i didnt realise how books did this kind of stuff until that day and i have avoided them ever since! it was too mentally damaging hahah
i havent rang halifax, i wanted to last week but didnt have my card with me (as i was back home) and i forgot/lost my telephone code so i always need it in front of me when i ring them. ill get onto that this week, its on my reminders.
TODAY I will also make a final payment to EON! and that will be a year of debt repayments done with! Lets do a high five dance, its a small debit but a victory none the less :T :j
stupid last payment for home insurance will come out tomorrow, but then that will be it! then all im gonna bother with is phone, laptop, and maybe bicycle insurance as ive began using my bike again to get to/from work (saving £3 a day or so).
apparently can do an upgrade with EE from 05 Aug. As of then ill ring them up and talk to them, ill set a reminder actually, cause as of right now i will definitely be leaving EE to go to BT Mobile. BT piggy backs off EE network anyway so should have the same signal qualities, and yet i can get a much better deal with a butt load of data and not have to worry about going over on data ever again. Plus! you get BT sports app so I can watch some big matches which will be sweet.
now no longer have gym membership! good riddance as i wasnt even using it, i brought back some weights i had at home with me so i can just do some decent home workouts and work on my flexbility which im concentrating on right now.
progress :beer:0
