Hi,
Planning another holiday for Easter 2015. 3 Adults, 1 x 14 year old, classed as an adult, and a 9 year old.
Thoughts/suggestions/constructive criticism welcome on this itinerary?
BHX 27 March 2015 - DXB 28 March 2015 - BKK
BKK 29 March 2015 – PKT
PKT 6 APRIL 2015 – SIN
SIN 8 April 2015 – DXB
DXB 11 April 2015 - BHX
Im also tempted to book it all myself, is it a good idea or not?
I've found the hotels I want to stay in for Bangkok and Phuket, still undecided about Singapore and Dubai.

Qatar airways can do Puket and Doha simpler, or do really want to visit Dubai?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I'd find an alternative to Phuket. Many nicer and cheaper places in Thailand.
I'd book with Emirates. BHX to BKK via Dubai then SIN back home with a stopover in DXB. Sort out your own internal flights in SE Asia as there are plenty of low cost carriers.0 -

It's easy to book it all yourself but you're not going to see much of any of these places!travelover0

The New Majestic Hotel in Singapore was amazingly good....we went for the Garden Room, there is also an Aqua Room. Have a look. The Hotel is well placed to easily get around Singapore and was a joy to stay in. x0

Although Singapore isn't somewhere to spend much more than a week, 2 nights is a waste of time imo and you might well do better spending that time elsewhere.
Haven't been to Phuket for 10 years. Used to like it but wouldn't bother again unless we stayed in one of the resort hotels. Too seedy, but some like the 'nightlife'.
Seems like you want a Far East beach holiday but then want to add a few other destinations to say 'been there, done that'. You might wish to reconsider that notion. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -

Thank you for the comment. We will be staying in one of the beach resorts with a private pool, I've now narrowed down the search to 4 hotels. Will probably be booking this weekend. Yep our requirements suit US as a family. 2016 we will do more of the East, but I don't think there is much to see in SIN.
Annie, thanks will check that out and let you know.0 -
Far too much planned for such a short stay. You will lose days on end flying and with jet lag.
Singapore is fab- we stay in a club suite at the Ritz Carlton- the lounge is brilliant- worth the money. zoo is great. Shopping, bus tours, night zoo, duck tours etc etc
Phuket is awful. Old men and young girls. Cheap tourists- not a place I would take a 9 year old as even driving through they will see things not at all suitable. It is cheap for a reason. There are much better places in Thailand. If you are going straight to a resort hotel you might as well stay in Europe. Chose somewhere that you can combine a great resort with seeing the beauty of Thailand
Dubai- love it or hate it- I prefer Oman
With just 2 weeks excluding travel I would do fly to Singapore for 4 days (1st one you will be too jet lagged) - week in an Thai beach resort- fly to Bangkok and then back.
If you really want Dubai then fly to a Thai beach resort (via anywhere as you wont be stopping). 1 week to get over jet lag and relax. Then to Bangkok then back via Duabi. You really cant do all 4.
Double check the weather for Thailand before you chose a resort.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -

Thanks Please.......I know what you're saying, but we've convinced ourselves that its a good plan.....I guess I will come back and say "you told me so" lol!
On paper it looks DOABLE........:eek::eek:
Yes we are keen on a Resort in Thailand, a bit of island hoping - couple of days excursions and/or just swimming. We are the type of people that LIVE for beach holidays a bit of sight seeing and we are done.
Our idea of a holiday is Sun, Sea, Sand and cocktails with loads of water sports and short excursions.0
