    .

Builders getting on with DDs room, it's nearly plastered, apparently we can paint on Sunday before the floor goes down, deep joy! Need to get the paint tomorrow morning, hope they still have the colours we picked.

Camelot don't forget to mist coat (google it) on your plaster before you paint properly, otherwise your paint will peel off in strips ! xx

    Hi everyone,

Late one from me. I was going to spend the morning baking and doing housework but I got a call from the Good Neighbour group I belong to and spent the morning taking an old lady to the shops.

I'm really looking forward to seeing DD for the weekend (and DS and their partners as well). it's ages since the whole family has been together, I bought a leg of Gloucester Old Spot pork, it cost a fortune but much cheaper than going out. I'll be interested to see if the flavour is better than SM pork.

I want to make a carrot cake this afternoon, it the hummingbird bakery recipe and is the best one I've ever tasted (lots of other people have said the same when they taste it).

Chicken breasts with lentils and butternut squash puree for dinner, nice and easy and delicious, also healthy which dd always asks for.

    Have a good day.

Back from seeing Mom. She was much better than last week. She talked my legs off today. Pity very little of it made sense but I just bluffed my way through.

She went on about my brother and his girlfriend in bits and dabs not making much sense but I gathered she wasn't happy with them from the tone of her voice. She's never very happy with them (the girlfriend mainly) but she would defend them (my brother especially) with her dying breath.

Bedding being laundered as I type. Too knackered to tackle the vacuuming so i'll have a play on my pc until I'm up to it.

    Afternoon all

First batch of onion marmalade made, looks and tastes great.
Must have been inspired by GBBO, just made apple pie, cheese straws and jam tarts, I won't eat much of the pastry though, when they are done its time for a batch if twinks hobnobs, DH takes them for energy on his bike, I just like eating them!

Hugs to all where needed, have a great weekend.

I've actually heard from a social worker attached to the community mental health team. I had the crisis team visiting me a couple of months ago and after I was discharged I was supposed to be passed onto the CMTH but I had heard nothing until yesterday. She is coming to see me at home next Tuesday afternoon so I will be interested to hear what she has to offer. I think the plan is to get me out of the house  but we'll see. I was 'talking' to a lovely lady online yesterday about not leaving the house unless I absolutely have to. I am really worried about having to take my grandson to nursery and back once my daughter officially starts work. I know I am just going to have to suck it up but I am dreading it.
I totally sympathise. I got to the point where I was scared to go into the back garden, which is all securely fenced off, on my own. I don't know of any easy solution - I was lucky enough to get the dog-sitting work, and I'm ok if I have a dog with me, and can now do stuff outside in the back garden on my own ok. I still don't go in the front garden alone though (it's open plan, and anyone who happens to be in the close can see me and *gulp* speak if they so choose); and as for going off the premises other than in the car with Mr LW, I can "walk" the dogs ok (in parentheses because I don't actually walk, I use my mobility buggy;)) but I get extremely shaky and nervous if I have to - for instance - go and post a letter and I have no dog along with me.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    • Afternoon all,

Nmlc - Congrats to your DS :)

Well what a miserably grey day it's been . Didn't bother hanging out the bed linen as I don't believe it would have dried. Done the ironing and cleaned the bathroom. Not done much else really.

Hope you all have a good weekend. (((Hugs))) for those that would like them :) x

      Afternoon all

Have been very lazy today or tired not sure which, very little energy whatever the reason, need to get my get up and go back somehow.

Another warm but cloudy day here, blackberries slow to ripen and would like to get some to make blackberry brandy as I seem to have a few bottles of brandy knocking around.....nobody drinks it so might make a little space in the cupboard.

We had an early dinner today of eggs, salami, tomato, onion and potato, all fried, really nice, will have some cake and tea in a bit.

Have been putting off having my hair cut for the last few weeks, DD4 rang a while ago and said the same, so she booked both of us in for tomorrow afternoon, thinking of having something drastic done, although has taken ages to get it all the same length, we'll see.

Kind thoughts to all, stay safe and well

    • Hi all
Back from work, bedding dry on the line so brought it in & put all the washing away..

Someone asked for Fruit Vodka recipe
      Fruit Vodka recipe
1 & half lbs of fruit
      Three quarters lb sugar
      Bottle of vodka

Place all ingredients in a large wide necked jar with well fitting lid.
      Shake to dissolve sugar.
      Leave for 6 weeks
      Strain into bottles.
If fruit looks ok & not too shriveled use it to make a boozy crumble.

I shall be posting pics of the quilts on my blog as I get it done.

      Hugs Hester
