Money Moral Dilemma: Should I pay towards my friend's plane ticket?

How can anyone answer you when the context hasn't been explained? Either way, it would be nice to cjip in for a mate ad share the love. The fact she asked is awkward. But even if she didn't I can see how it affects the trip - when you go on a trip with a mate, you want to be on an equal footing budget wise. If you don't share a bit of your win, you will probably end up with a mate being difficult about what you choose to do, saying that she can't afford to eat in such and such a restaurant as she is on a tighter budget etc..It's just human nature. It's just nice to bit the bullet and share sometimes.0

Think of it the other way around, if your friend won the free ticket - would you expect her to pay for half of your ticket?0

It's your win so you should enjoy it,because she wants half your winnings has taken the fun out of it and left you a bit confused. What if you won £100 on a fruit machine, would she want half of that as well?If you both always share any winnings of any kind then i would say yes, otherwise tell her no.I would never ask a friend of mine to pay just because they have a bit of luck,i consider what she has done as being very selfish. You could say to her that she can expect a couple of meals and some drinks paid for by you.Plus tell her that the money saved on your ticket has gone on paying a few bills. That should take the awkwardness out of the trip and if it doesn't then perhaps she's not the friend you thought she was.
The wife and me quite often go away on holiday with friends and if any of them ever won something we wouldn't ask or even expect anything, all we would do is genuinely tell them how pleased we are for their good fortune.0 -
Is your friend taking the mick? Why should you pay for half of her fare.
Tell her straight that you will happily go on your own!!0 -
The short answer to this is - NO! Why on earth would you want to?0

Did you book and win the cost of the ticket back or did you win a ticket and your friend was invited or decided to come with you?
If you won your cost back pay half of the cost. If your friend booked when you had the free ticket don't.
Of course if you invited your friend you would of probably made the offer then.
This is truly hypothetical.0 -
And I would of made the decision when I won.
I don't want to go alone let's invite .......... or I won my ticket price back...
I would pay for ether half the friends ticket if I had invited them or I had won cost back.
Alt I would treat us both with what I would of spent on the airfare.0 -
