My face hurt at the end of the day. I had been walking around grinning like an idiot for twelve hours.

It was just me that laughed then?

I was nervous and so I got the giggles. This set off half of the guests (only had a small wedding) and then registrar started giggling too! By then end of the ceremony we were all laughing. : )

As someone else said you will spend the day greeting people, kissing people and chatting to people. Try and find just ten minutes for the two of you to just sit together quietly as you don't really get the chance to chat during the day.

    Best wishes,

LOL, I got the giggle too, during the vows. It was nerves. The day before, I was sick with nerves, but oddly OK on the day. It helped that we were getting married at 10.30am, so I didn't have much time to stress out.

Up until we visited the venue the night before (where we encountered problems) I was excited. Once the stress of getting everything ready in time, and the ceremony arrived, I was as calm as I'd ever been.

A word of advice, take 5-10 minutes for yourself during the day.

Take 5-10 minutes for what?

All the best OP ... I hope you will have a long and happy marriage. :)

Felt fine, ready to escape home, in those far off days!

I was a bit nervous about walking down the aisle, so had the choir in front. As it happened, my father and I came through the door and were astonished to see a full church. One of the pleasures of village life, I suppose.

I felt a huge sense of anticipation that we were starting our life together and nothing would be the same. Knowing I would be leaving my home as a single woman to set up home with my husband made me anxious as how it would be.

I wasn't nervous at all the day before and I think it helped us that we broke with tradition by spending the night before the wedding together and went down the pub with our 4 closest friends and my brother.

I was quite nervous on the day but only about speaking in front of a crowd, not about marrying the husband.

All the best for your big day, enjoy every minute.

Good luck today. I hope it all goes as you've planned.
  • Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I probably would say this, but it was just amazing in the end. It went so well and there were no real problems. I managed to take a few minutes for myself as well.

Just need to get used to wearing this ring now!

    Congratulations.

BTW I never did get used to the ring. It came off after a couple of weeks and has been back in it in it's box ever since.
