Has anyone paid to upgrade to platinum? I have been thinking about it but want to know if its actually worth it?
I can't check because I am Platinum but I think it was around £9 converted?
You can sponsor new users at 500 points each, two a day. So 1000 points a day.
£1 is worth a little over 3000 points at lower levels, and less at higher so we'll call it 3000 for ease.
That means if you get two sponsored a day then it'll take you 27 days to get your money back.
But there's two things that mess with this calculation:
Firstly it's really hard to get the sponsorships. They go within seconds most of the time.
On the other hand every one you sponsor can win you points from the button, and if they become bronze then that's 2500 on top of the 500 you already got for sponsoring them.
Technically if you buy into it then you're in it for the long haul, but don't forget this is a company that has gone down once and is built on what seems to be mostly people receiving ads while clicking a button. Personally I'd only do it if your lifestyle is such that you can be around a computer for a good lump of the day.0 -
