parking my car outside my house

  • I hope you are not moving in next to me, you sound like a nightmare neighbour.
  • Lidl have some tins of road marking spray paint this week.
You could do your own "double yellows" outside the house you might buy . . .
  • There is no right to park on a public road outside your house - this is why houses with driveways are worth more.

As currently has been pointed out you don't have a right to the parking outside your house but all is not lost.

"I wish to park my ford "

You need to upgrade your car and that will give you the rights you require plus additional rights.

    BMW
    AUDI (Certain Models)
    Mercede's
    and Premium Italian brands

You will also gain sole rights to the outside lane on the motorway and access to new social circles etc. In all honesty it could change your life. You have the wrong car for your desires and understanding of life.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think they don't have a right to park there??

Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But you can choose your hard.

Agree with above comments (except the rude ones).
If you will the end, you must will the means.
  • You would hate my neighbours then...I have to walk 5-6 meters from my front door....with my asda shopping!! SHOCK HORROR!
  • If you complan to the council too loudly they might do what has happened here. We have a problem with being near a Bus Garage/Depot. All the bus drivers with cars park on the street meaning very often no spaces for locals. So lots of complaints made.

Council put a parking permit system in place on one side of the street so residents now have to pay for the privilege of parking in the street as well as for visitor permits lol. And we still have difficulty parking, but pay for the privilege!
  • Rent a garage somewhere? Car share/rent a car when needed so you don't have the hassle of trying to park it?
As far as I know on a public road anyone can park. Perhaps if others have a similar issue then you could lobby the council and get residents parking permits brought in and designated spaces?
Oh, and by the way, how do you know that the people parking in the street are not neighbours with a similar issue but are other people?

Even having residents permits won't necessarily work. Where I came from, the Council started doing that at one point, but the space outside my home was still regularly taken by someone else and I'm guessing its because the houses only had one space outside each house, but all the houses were entitled to ask for two permits per house and I expect many of them did so and parked the second car outside someone else's house.
