have a little dilemma this morning i found a letter, ds3 has won an award at school he is 14, ceremony tomorrow but he says he is not going. I want to go and see him get it, but he does not approve of the system that gives him an award for being top in maths with no hard work he says it comes naturally he looks at numbers and the answer is there, but other children struggle and work a lot harder than him, and one of his friends through hard work has moved up 3 sets, ds3 thinks his mate or others like him deserve the award more as they have worked a lot harder. I can see what he is saying and the choice is his, but I wanted the proud mum moment.:o:o:o:o:ofor the sort of person your son is :T not an award that in reality means very little in comparison

Ta for this, I will have a go later, register with both.
OH has a works discount service and I've recently started using it - just for Asda, Marks and sainsbobs top up cards and Morrison gift vouchers -in three months I've saved about £40 - OK not a vast amount but even so its money I would have been spending anyway - I reckon over the course of a year it could be above the £150 mark - when I do a midweek trip away that's my target spend so its a free mid week break
Just wish this scheme had been around when I had the gang all at home and our outgoings were huge
I have made the biggest savings on B&Q and homebase giftcards. You get a 6% saving on B&Q and 7.5% on homebase. To be honest I haven't counted the exact amount of savings. But with 6 years of non stop DIY, it's not to be sniffed at.
Asda GCs are 3.5%, Sains 4%, Morries 3.5%. Sadly they don't do Ts ones. They do just about every other high street store you can think of too.
You can also buy a discount card for instore purchases. It £4.99 and is valid for 5 years. Every little helps
Time I wasn't here, things to do. Have a good day all :wave:0 -

I think you've had your proud mum moment right there with what he said. What an absolutely brilliant thoughtful child you have, amazing and selfless...a thing I rarely hear about these days. I'm proud of him and you...and I don't even know you. I can't help with your dilemma perhaps just say the moment is for you because you'd like everyone else to see what a wonderful child you have, so that others can see what you already know..I don't know but thank you for sharing...it really has made my day.:A NI FEIDIR ACH LE DIA BREITHIUNAS A DHEANAMH ORM0 -

Actually I lied, today won't be a NSD. I'm going to be spending 27p!
I've got a shop planned, £24.28 down to £1.62. I'll then claim £1.35 cashback. And, all going well, I'll also have a £9.98 pp to play with afterwards....those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
