Who else has had a guilty freezer horror story?
Ive already done my difficult job of the day – Ive had a freezer clear out.
The very bottom freezer shelf was for margarine and cooking spread storage. I always needed to have a good stock of this - 20 years of domestic goddess style daily sandwich making for school, work, college ,uni and away days etc .
I also had to cake bake weekly as the youngest had hollow legs and so he was forever eating and homemade cake at least stopped him eating snacky rubbish..
Flora and other brand MOCs appeared at regular intervals and when they did I stocked up.
But last March youngest child went for an interview, was accepted, 6 weeks later he left home, went north and started work in mid May.
My decades of sandwich and cake making days were suddenly over.
You just never know when your life is going to take a sharp diversion in another direction.
The marg stock pile has sat in the bottom freezer ever since, like a monument to domestic servitude – all other shelves sorted on a regular basis but never this one.
This morning I had the bottom shelf out and the one above, emptied and cleaned both. The bottom one now has my frozen fruit stash, mainly from Morrison’s f and v happy days (and also carefully hidden the illicit emergency chocolate bar) The 2nd one up is still desserts, puddings and ice creams but a lot tidier, minus the fruit.
Plus I found the missing white mini magnum that went AWOL about 4 months ago.
I’ve put 10 tubs of marg into the wheely bin for collection this morning, all with summer 2013 expiry dates.
Time to move on.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Congrats on the Canada job Emmap :T sounds amazing!
Hugs Evangeline, I can definitely empathise with the constipation atm, though in my case it's partially self-inflicted (the piles of spaghetti I've been eating )
:grouphug: for SD, hope the dentist visit comes and goes swiftly for you so it's one less worry x
Hope the nerfy household is feeling better today and bubbs' hand is healing well

The Sun one is here

ETA oh it doesn't like that link....wonder why? it's defence discount service without the spaces HTH
Ta for this, I will have a go later, register with both.
OH has a works discount service and I've recently started using it - just for Asda, Marks and sainsbobs top up cards and Morrison gift vouchers -in three months I've saved about £40 - OK not a vast amount but even so its money I would have been spending anyway - I reckon over the course of a year it could be above the £150 mark - when I do a midweek trip away that's my target spend so its a free mid week break
Just wish this scheme had been around when I had the gang all at home and our outgoings were huge“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I was checking a wombled T receipt and noticed that LEMONS @ 35p compare to A 25p. Not a mega saving but I'm going to put it on my filler list as a useful item for when the next TvA opportunity arises.0

Hoping to spend December cooking healthy ready meals for freezer and have earmarked a few box sets that come out around Christmas for the nightshifts
I've seen quite a few youngsters walking around recently in what I'd call pajamas, don't really understand it, but if it means not having to dress in the morning then bring it on :rotfl:Final cigarette smoked 02/01/18

good morning all hope the elite are wellxx
have a little dilemma this morning i found a letter, ds3 has won an award at school he is 14, ceremony tomorrow but he says he is not going. I want to go and see him get it, but he does not approve of the system that gives him an award for being top in maths with no hard work he says it comes naturally he looks at numbers and the answer is there, but other children struggle and work a lot harder than him, and one of his friends through hard work has moved up 3 sets, ds3 thinks his mate or others like him deserve the award more as they have worked a lot harder. I can see what he is saying and the choice is his, but I wanted the proud mum moment.:o:o:o:o:o0 -
Bye cya all later after walkies , work and Mr T's :wave:0
