My local florist ordered me a full roll when she did her order .. cost me £15. This is around 6 years ago now and Ive not even used half of it yet!

What awful customer service your local florist clearly has!

Yes - they were in a 'up-market' part of town, obviously didn't think was worthy

My dad is a chef at an old people's home, and he regularly has to bake cakes, so I have made him this cake making hamper:

The two tier cake carrier was bought from Amazon (about £15) - however if someone wanted to do similar, but cheaper - Poundland have round cake carriers in.
The contents were gathered cheaply from B&M, Lidl's, Poundland and Home Bargains. Most individual items cost less than £1.
I have a vinyl/craft cutting machine so I added the personalised lettering myself.

Hi everyone, I've been reading these board for a long time, and was inspired last year to make some hampers! They were very well received and I have started my hampers for this year. I'm doing the following,

My hampers aren't themed exactly, I just stick a bit of what I think everyone will appreciate in a basket and give them it! :D

    Mil and fil,
    Bottle of wine
    Cans of cider
Sweets (mainly from pound shops - Mil loves Thornton fudge that you can usually find at £land)
Homemade body Scrub (been saving jars up!)
Little packs of biscuits and those individual cheeses you can get from the supermarket
    Photo frame/scrabble frame
Usually I put some fluffy socks and slippers in there as well
And some homemade goodies I usually make such as truffles, peppermint creams, little Gingerbread stars etc that I put into little cello bags and tie with ribbons

    Sil (16yo)
Homemade baking mixes in jars (she loves baking - I'm going to do cookies and brownies)
A little personalised notebook (bought cheaply from somewhere with sequins etc stuck on the cover or maybe covered with pretty paper)and a nice little pen
    Homemade sugar scrub
    Homemade lip balm
    Homemade goodies (truffles etc)
    Sweets from £ shops
    Personalised coke bottles
    Phone covers
    Candy cane sleigh
    Reindeer chocolate bar
    'just add ice-cream' kit

    Mum
    Bottle of wine
    Biscuits and cheeses
    Sweets
    Home made goodies
Homemade beeswax candle in a jar
    Fluffy socks and slippers
    Homemade body scrub
    Scented tealights
Gas refill for the candle lighter she got last year!

    Dad
    Bottle of wine
His favourite sweets(licorice all sorts, blackcurrant and licorice etc)
    Biscuits and cheeses
Golf balls and Tees (loves to play golf)

    OH
Bottles of beer (decked out to look like reindeer)
His favourite sweets (jelly babes and m&ms)
    Big bar of galaxy
    Candy cane sleigh
    Reindeer chocolate bar
    'just add ice cream' kit
Tesco onion rings (his fave snack!)
    Homemade cookies, truffles etc

Wow, that's quite a long one, sorry! If anyone's got any suggestions as to what to add to any of those then I'd love to hear!

    Jo xx
I'm usually using a phone, so excuse my spelling please!

    Nice bubble bath?

It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • I have been looking at this thread for ideas and have decided to make my DD a beauty hamper for Christmas.
Most of the items are from Home Bargains or Poundland but there are also a few competition wins and freebies in there as well. Should have cost around £49 but I have spend just over £10.
