Most people don't know they exist, and usually they won't help you out unless they've contacted you personally. But if you explain your frustration and they can see that you've tried to get this sorted repeatedly, they're really happy to help.LplateSaver wrote: »Wow thanks for that, I wouldn't have thought of it.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -

Hi thebritishbloke...
I cant thank you enough for this information you have provided, I never knew they existed either. I phoned them yesterday and today I have had a phone call to say they are removing the default from my credit reports.
I will surely have a good weekend now.
Thanks again and good luck to anyone else using this useful information

I explained that I actually didn't use the equipment and that I took it back to the Phones4U store the next day. Phones4U were meant to notify 3 to cancel the agreement but never did and I ended up paying for 1 month a few months later when I was chased by a debt collector.
I only found out about the Default a little while ago and it is over 5 years old now so would have dropped off next year but I believed I should never have had it in the first place and especially for such a stupid amount of £34.00.
The customer services department didn't accept my case at all and said that they would not be changing or removing the default. However with thebritishblokes advise on your thread for the Executive office... they sided with me and agreed that I was mistreated and agreed to remove it within 28 days.
I have since had the email from them confirming this too.

I have realised I am in the same situation.
After getting my credit report, 3 lodged a default against me for £92 in 2012. It was a damaged phone I was meant to return but forgot. And then I moved house and got a new 3 contract.
So they have offered to recall the debt from Past Due Credit, clear the balance and mark the default as satisified. Which I am happy with and it was my stupidity anyway.0 -

Did you call the same number as I did?
They were so helpful and very understanding.0 -
make sure they don't change it to all missed payments, instead of the default as this can be worseDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Wow..that is seriously understanding of them...considering you still had their property which was never returned.0
