BT do a basic line rental and broadband package for low income customers.
Line rental £4.50
Broadband £4.85
Download Limit 10 GB
It might be suitable but personally the download limit would worry me.

Not sure if this would include installation of a line though, just looked at the leaflet and it seems that installation should be free in most circumstances.0 -
Since broadband is exchange-specific, start with an exchange search on samknows.com for your available LLU options. There are no universal 'best deals'.
The other usual issue for students is minimum term, as most providers want 12m:, will you be still in the property in 12m?
If leaving VM cable, you'll also need to factor in the cost of a BT-based landline provision or reconnection-from £130 to zero.No free lunch, and no free laptop
