Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a grey and murky morning but hopefully it will cheer up loads later. Hubby's gone off to work and my girls are enjoying their last week of freedom before they go back to school. I shall be kicking them off their various screens in a little while to go and get school shoes and writing supplies. I am very happy that they are of an age they don't need or want me to go with them, (just my money).
I shall be popping into town today with my trusty shopping trolley 'matilda' to get some more tea from the co-op whilst it is on offer and I haven't picked up my meds yet so I will have to do that as well or life will get very 'interesting' in a week or so.
I need to run the hoover round and generally tidy up after the weekend and then I will be preparing the chicken and veg curry for tonight for me and hubby. the kids will have a chicken and rice risotto fondly known as Mummy's Marvellous Monday Mix-up :rotfl::rotfl:.
My eldest DD is working this week shadowing another carer while she waits for her security check to come through. My grandchildren are in Spain on holiday with their dad so the issue of childcare hasn't risen yet. My GDD has to go back to school on Friday, it seems really silly to start on a Friday! She doesn't get back from her holiday till thursday so she is going to be shattered.
My friend has just rung to tell me about the dreadful wedding she went to on the weekend. Her niece turned into a full-blown Bridezilla apparently and the whole affair cost £42,000 _pale_. Anyway, she will be telling me more gory details over coffee later.
Well, I'd better jump in the shower and get organized for today. Hope everyone manages to have a great day whatever they are up to. Take care xx0 -
Morning everyone. Pinch punch, first of the month:p
It is our wedding anniversary today. 35 years.
A long time. We have lived in this semi 26 years.A house is more than a home, it has a history of families growing up.
I baked x2 fruit cakes yesterday. Both for sharing.
One for our house and guests and the second to take to MIL tomorrow.
Today i think we are spending some time in the garden, tidying up. Planting spring bulbs. Need to bring in some plants soon to over winter in the conservatory.
JackyO - do tell us some more about you Isle of Wight holiday.
Where did you go for days out? Fill your time?
Just sent in my code for Andrex puppy points from the now empty bag.
I have ordered a Andrex puppy ballpoint pen, using 80 points.
I will order a calendar @ Christmas to use some more points. I still have 220 points.
I reckon, they should have dogs toys and bowls on the reward list.
I do not want a soft toy puppy dog.
Oh dear! rain showers all dayput the washing out and brought it in again still wet.
Sending good wishesThe secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Good Morning everyone, we've got drizzly rain this morning but it's not at all cold and we're forecast rain and mist for the day today so I'm planning lots of little indoorsy jobs and the garden will certainly appreciate the water.
He Who Knows and the Lurcha are out walking and then he's taking masses of garden waste to the local tip where they have a composting facility so nothing is wasted but recycled and sold back as soil improver.
Given the article on the news this morning about eating less meat and dairy to slow down global warming I've chatted to the confirmed carnivore and we've decided to try and have more vege based meals in our diet. He likes spicy food so it shouldn't be too difficult to find things he's happy to have as the main meal of the day and I'd rather eat veg anyway so we'll experiment and find things that we both like.If we eat veggie today it will have to involve courgettes as we're getting to that time of season where if you look away from the patch for a millisecond they transform themselves instantly into marrows!!! but on the happy side at least the runner beans are finished so it could be worse!!!
Have yourselves a really good day all and I wish each one of you something lovely to make you smile in your day today, Lyn xxx.0 -
Good morning
Congratulations Good Advice
Up early this morning to get dd2 off to school. She is the slowest dresser in history. She then managed to spill milk down her jumper, no spare, so she's gone off to school with stains, I'm glad she didn't want me to go in with her this morning hehe.
Went off to the dump with a boot full of stuff that OH put in yesterday. A box full of games and dvds, including our discovery cove dvd! Full of memories and it was really expensive at the time! Silly man. I did get rid of plenty of other stuff.
A grey, still day. It'l probably take the washing all day to dry. Need to give the house a good clean, take the dogs for a good walk and need to get a bit of shopping in.
Dd1 is currently slamming doors because I'm making her go for a shower before she goes to our neighbours house. pfft
Happy Monday everyoneLBM 04/10:j

Morning all,
its peeing down here. You know, that fine drifting stuff that doesn't look heavy but wets you right through. I guess I wont be drying anything outdoors today.
Not got anything planned for today, just need to muck in. The house is in its usual Monday morning disarray. I need to chase up my medication. It was due to be delivered on Friday.
Nothing else to add really. All quiet on the home front.
Good advice. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. I hope you both have a lovely day.

Hi everyone,
We've been in Yorkshire for the week and I never have anything OS to post up there so I usually don't bother. We had 3 sets of visitors and had lots of lovely walks and a few good meals out, it's a real haven. I have had an upset stomach since yesterday though.
Today I want to sort out my sewing room (aka dining room), DH bought me a new machine for our anniversary (it's amazing what feeling guilty for not having bothered to do anything beforehand can do). I shall postpone any strenuous activity until I feel better and we'll have Somerset Bean Stew for dinner to avoid meat for the day.
Happy Anniversary good advice, good luck to all those returning to school (especially staff members) and good wishes to all the poorlies.
Have a good day.0 -
Oh! Snoozer, you will spend many a happy hour with your sewing machine.
I had a new one last Autumn. I find I now save a lot of material from my old things like quilt covers and clothes. Cut buttons and zips off. Reuse and have lots of fun.
I sometime do small sewing tasks for other people. Taking up curtains. Just recovered a neck cushion for MIL.
Have lots of creative fun.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
