  • Hello Ladies, Hope you don't mind me joining in. I have set myself a new challenge of keeping on top of the house so if my door knocks i'm happy enough to let people in. As i write this I am still sitting in my jammies as I have been tidying and hoovering upstairs all morning.

Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc
Wipe all the windows in these areas!!
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..

Love the idea of following a list, even though I am posting before I've even done half of it but hope to have 3/4 done by tea time.
I would like to be able to admire a man’s opinions as I would his dog - without being expected to take it home with me."

:DThanks for including this - I think it'll help motivate me to do the preparation we need to do so that the workmen can crack on as soon as possible. They start on Sept 15th.
Currently I'm working on the logistics of what's going where for temporary storage, but still be able to use things.

Just for a change, I'm going to see how I fare with the official list today.:o

We're going to be packing the cupboards up soon, so I shall sort through everything as we pack, and see if there's anything to fling or send to the CS; we're also running down the store cupboard, and at the same time compiling a "restock" shopping list for after it's all over.:o

  • Hola Flyladies

I have returned from a fortnight in Devon with the whole family, just about hung on to my sanity although DD and her vile, selfish behaviour had me teetering in the brink a few times. Onwards and upwards!

Boys are back to school tomorrow and I'm back to work too :( the flat is a pit and I have washing EVERYWHERE, the kitchen waste pipe blocked yesterday and the WM outlet backed up and flooded the floor and under the adjoining cupboards. Fun and japes!

I need to get my act together, and visit the supermarket AGAIN. I'm so cheesed off with having to think of dinner ideas all the time.

Anyway, I'm posting my intentions to get the washing backlog cleared and the mess out AWAY. Ready, set, GO!!

    Hope all are well xx

:o it has already been a very long day, i seem to have lost the morning so that was probably wishful thinking that i could perhaps reclaim some of it.

My brain has turned to sludge. I hung a load of washing out yesterday in an effort to get it dry before it was due to rain at 4.00 am this morning. And then forgot about it. The good news is, it's now drying out nicely, having had a final rinse and drip dry all by itself. Clever, clever washing.
    Better is good enough.
  • Thank you Mrs-MP, we had a lovely day, even managed to sneak out for dinner on our lonesomes :)

Airer stripped and clothes folded, put away or loaded into the ironing basket accordingly, towels now in a super hot wash as DSD has suspected scabies _pale_ -- this is after ticks which required a hospital visit to remove, and headlice  She's a haven for parasites.

Lounge tidied and dusted, and our bedroom has had the same treatment. I have asked nicely, bossed and shouted at my boys to tidy their room, woe betide if I go in there and yesterday's socks are still on the floor.

Off to Aldi before the traffic gets any worse.

Thank you for all the greetings! I'm currently on easy duties, but have managed to clean most of the kitchen by doing one thing, and then having a sit down.

Dusty - hope you all had a lovely flyladymeet, am very jealous! I'm sorry I missed mention, would have sent love to soappie and greenbee.
Family all well. DS1 running online business from home and doing open Uni course; DS2 has had a fabulous first year at BathSpa, and just left today for Year 2 (and Bestival); DD has worked crazily hard for two years to gain a Uni place, and is starting soon on Early Childhood studies. I'm still teaching, had to work full time for large part of last year to cover absent colleague.

Lovely to see lots of familiar names, as well a lots of newbies!
