Morning all
Off out for lunch to eldest sons today. No real plans after that. Might catch up with some recorded telly later.
Noticeable now that the days are cooler and shorter. Plan to have one more trip away in caravan before our big trip abroad in October. Need to get another couple of bits before we go but will shop when all the poor parents getting uniform are out if the shops, I remember those days ......
Have a good day all, hugs to all those that need themCarolbee0 -
Good morning,
Islandmaid many congratulations, and I hope you had a wonderful day.
Jackie good to see you back, sounds as though you had a lovely holiday.
Lyn I made the oatey squares yesterday, I put dates and cinnamon in and then sprinkled the chocolate on top, Cadbury's flakes because I didn't have anything else. They were absolutely superb, definiately something I will make again.
WM is on at the moment, so hopefully the weather will stay fine. Roast beef and all the trimmings for lunch, and other than that I am not going to do very much at all today. We go to see DD most days to make sure she is OK, so to have a day at home is just lovely. No rush to get dressed so I can stay in my PJs for a little longer.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone

Lots more rain overnight again but it appears to be brightening up now so have stripped the bed and the bedding is in the wash.
DH has gone for a swim so I am chilling, am absolutely exhausted this weekend, I need some get up and go because mine has got up and gone
Batch cooking for the freezer and packed lunches planned for today. Freezer drawers need a good sort out too.
Have an ebay parcel to post, and it's cheaper via courier than the post office at the moment, so will drop that off on the way to go and see DD and GDD later. DD is desperate to get GDD back at school, she's a bit of a handful at the moment.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

Morning everyone, and it's glorious again here. The wind has died down, the sun is shining, the sea is like glass and I'm still in in jimjams!
Was up late last night as I decided to trawl through some programmes on the recorder. Really enjoyed The Last Leg, hated Judge Rinder and loved New Tricks.
Now I am determined to pull on my clothes and go for a walk before breakfast. Just round the 'block' which is about 2 miles round and no chance of shortcuts. Down past the cows, turn right at the cattle grid, up to the bluebell wood, right st the crossroads and then a long stretch round to the T junction and then 20 minutes from there to home. Grief, hope I haven't put myself off! :rotfl: need to do it though.
Then I can enjoy breakfast.
Friend called round bearing small gifts so we had a very large and very lovely G&T together, just the one. And boy was that plenty.
Good vibes and wishes to everyone.
Happy Sunday, hope that not too much of it is spent on housework or cooking.0 -
Morning all
Last full day of my holiday, but I'm only working about half a day tomorrow, I've already been warned that there is a problem. My in tray at work is full to bursting all from one person, said person has already complained to my line manager that her work hasn't been done yet, erm, that's cos I've been on holiday, she'll need putting in her place tomorrow or Tuesday. We have an inset day on Tuesday, this is when some of the teaching staff will present me with all their schemes of work for the forthcoming term & expect it to be ready by 8am Wednesday morning, lol.
Yesterday I stripped down 3 more shirts and I now have 12 small bundles of fabric & a box of buttons. If I get chance I shall cut the fabric into squares & strips ready to sew. I will then have 2 quilts, 4 dresses for me & 2 for the DGD's. Unfortunately I can't do any sewing until after 6th Sept as I don't get my table back 'til then.
Time I made another cuppa
Have a good day everyone

Gonzo going for a
and Gers for a
- before brekkie! What energetic people you both are
.
tru - hope the 'Man-trus' have enjoyed their
trip.
TTFTM - not surprised you're exhausted! You've had a busy week, girl - make sure you take it easy today. Are you back in work again tomorrow?
1of3 - good to hear that your 'littlies' have recovered from their 'bug'. I well-remember those kind of nights AND the extra washing that went with them .
candlelight - enjoy your 'chill time'.
good advice - thanks for the comment re the 'smilies'. Some of them are the ones available on here. When posting - go into 'Go Advanced'. Down the righthand side of the reply window are some smilies - if you then click on [More] below them, another window opens up with a complete list. Just 'right-click' on whichever one you want to use, and it'll go into your message.
Some of the others are available from various 'smiley sites' on the internet. I 'left-click' on pics and then click on 'copy url code'. Using that copied code, you can then post the pic inside a message by 'right-clicking on the little 'pic symbol/Insert Image' above the 'reply box'. A tiny box will open - you then 'paste' your copied url code into that box and close it. The code will appear in your message and turns into the pic when you 'submit'.
All that sounds terribly long-winded, but it's nowhere near as complicated as it appears - honest
.
Have just 'cooked off' a batch of mushy peas for the freezer - 2 x 2ptns. I like to have them ready for easy defrosting - cos I always forget to 'get them into soak' the night before when we want them.
Now off to tackle the C/Freezer Inventory - the mushy peas can join it when they've cooled down enough :j.
speak again later, happy OS-ing, everybody - luv Lilyplonk xxx0 -
Good Morning everyone, it's a lovely sunny day here today and warmer than it has been for a while so I'm going to spend as much time outside as I possibly can.
He Who Knows is definately feeling the advent of autumn he's decided that his current batch of papier mache logs will be the last he makes this year as they are now taking a long time to dry in the polytunnel. We've got a couple of hundred of them stored already so it should be enough to start the woodburner through the colder weather.
CANDLELIGHT I'm so pleased you like the chocolate oaty squares, they're part of christmas now for us and the wartime christmas cake has turned out very well, it has the substance of a conventional cake and feels quite 'solid' but not too stodgy. It smelt wonderful while it was cooking yesterday and we'll try a slice with our tea this afternoon.
I'm serving a salad at lunchtime partly because it's such a nice day but mainly because the lettuces we grow have all decided to bolt at the same time so I'm having to be inventive and work lettuce into as many mneals as I possibly can.
Hope all our poorlies are feeling better and that problems aren't too onerous for all of us, have a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Good Morning all,
I am sorry my mind has gone blank so I cannot remember enough details to do personals. Please know that I do care about you all.
For some reason I am feeling bone tired today so I am sat here in my night clothes trying to muster up the energy to make breakfast.
Old style today? Need to go through my wardrobe and work out which clothes are suitable for the clothes bank and which others can be made into patchwork squares or rags. I still have a lot of work blouses and as I have not worked in 3 years and doubt I will again it is time to clear them out.
Then if I have a burst of energy I need to start a menu plan to use up what is in the freezer. The freezers need defrosting and if we do move soon I would like all the freezers empty.
Have a nice day all.
Take care
