I have just phoned EE to change the account my direct debit is linked to and could not believe what I heard!
After i chose my options to speak to payments team...the recorded message said that I could either wait in the queue, or pay 50p to be put in a priority queue.
Completely shocked - never encountered this before? Surely, this is unfair on the people who can't afford 50p? Does this mean that every person who pays 50p goes infront of a poor customer who has been waiting for ages to speak to someone?
Shocked!! What do you think? Fair or not?

Yes, I believe they introduced this earlier this month. There are threads where some people have offered their opinions on the matter: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5039037 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5039865
I'm not an EE customer and this makes me much less likely to consider joining the network in the future.0 -
Sorry...newbie here and the first time I had to call them in a while.
Will check them out now!0 -
I choosed free option and took less than a minute to connect..Maybe was not a busy hour but using such tactics is a shame..Avoid these plague..0

Next they will be charging a £1 to jump in front of the 50p and sod
the poor people at the back
No its wrong that they can get away with charging to que
Trouble is now they have done it the other networks will jump on the bandwagon.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
No different than paying extra for the passes at Alton Towers etc that allow you to queue-jump.......I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

I just press 2, option 2, option 2, option 2...most the overseas have to transfer you anyway as they are restricted in use and usually common sense.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Well it is given a airtime agreement includes customer service aswell as access to the network (and may include device)
So how does the new arrangement mean you don't have customer service or access to the network?
It just means that someone else might not wait as long as you do to speak to a CS agent if they are willing to pay the 50p and you aren't.
I don't see the issue, you are paying for an extended premium service, if you want to. If you don't want to, you can still speak to CS.====0 -
