If you don't mind me asking what kind of questions did they ask you?
I'm so scared of going by myself but I guess I don't have much choice.
I returned to work 3 months ago. It seems silly that I'm being made to attend this appointment.
Sorry RBK, am probably too late now (slept in!). The questions were just very general - was there anything wrong at work, when did I feel I could go back, what support do I have at home etc. I don't think that they are there to catch you out, and to be honest I think he wondered what I was doing there (it was far too early for me to go back).
Let us know how you get on xGone ... or have I?0 -

Thank you to everyone for your supportive posts. It really means a lot to me
Thank God it's overWell tbh it was a complete waste of time. The appointment lasted a max. of 15mins. The Doctor didn't have any information from my GP or consultant, he just had a letter from HR. I told him I had overdosed 5 times and been an inpatient twice. He wasn't very helpful, he just asked why I was admitted and who admitted me
He said he can't stop me from overdosing and if I want to I'll do it anyway. He made some kind of comment about me being lucky that I didn't screw up my liver and also some comment about not overdosing on my current medicication. He couldn't understand why I overdose and didn't try to understand. He just said you're young, live your life e.t.c He also said you don't come across as being depressed. Hmmm he came to alot of conclusions in just 15 mins.
He said there was no reason hy I can't continue to work. He didn't mention the fact that my job gives me access to various medications including controlled drugs. HR had sent a report of all my absences (over 9 weeks this year). He said why have you been off so much. I said I was signed off for a long period by my GP and also had a month in hospital. He said he could understand why HR would be p!ssed off with my sickness record. I also explained that it shows up that that I'm 'sick' at least once a week because of appointments to see my social worker/CPN or psychiatrist. I said I can't avoid that from happening and he told me not to attend the appointments. To me it came across as though there is no medical reason why I cannot work but my sickness record might make them question my employment status.
I read one line on the lettr from HR and it said 'Would the DDA stand up in court?' That does worry me a bit.
He also said there is nothing that he or my company can do to help me in any way.
So anyway, it was totally pointless attending the appointment and I just feel crap about the way he was towards me and the comments he made.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Just when I thought it was over my manager has informed me that work are no longer using Bupa Wellness and that it's likely I'll have to attend another appointment -->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Hi razorbladekisses,
It sounds as if it wasn't a good experience at all.Perhaps your employer is changing the provider of their occupational health services because they've had other adverse comments about the experience from their employees as well as yours?
Hopefully, if you do have to attend an appointment with someone else it will be a far more positive and helpful experience for you.
Please keep us posted on how things are going.

Hi again RBK
I got the internet back, was wondering how you were getting on but never dreamed it would be ongoing like this.
I am so sorry to hear that it went badly. Isn't it great that we have so many caring health professionals, eh? Have you told the social worker/psych nurse/psych that the BUPA doctor has requested you stop attending their appointments? I know mine would have something to say... I have even heard my GP tell my (now ex) manager to f*** off on the phone, while I was sat there in the surgery next to her.
Call the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) to find out if the DDA does apply and to see if you are being treated unfairly. They are free and might be able to put you in contact with all sorts of other people who can help you as well.

Hello silvercharming, I haven't seen my social worker since the Bupa appointment. I just kind of stopped attending the appointments. My GP disagreed with the Bupa Doctor. Thanks for the info silvercharming
Just to update. I couldn't cope with the stress of the whole process (HR/Bupa) and have handed in my notice. I am quite sad about it as I do really love my job but I couldn't handle the not knowing and it just seemed to be dragging on for ages (it began in July).-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
