Hello again,
I sent of my appeal at the beginning of this month(1st), the letter stated they would reply within 14 days but as yet I have heard nothing, not sure what to do ?
My concern is that for some reason it has got lost in the post, I don't want to miss my 28 day opportunity to appeal to Popla, what would you advise?
Many Thanks0 -
Coupon Mad - I have only just seen your latest reply, many thanks for suggesting that. However at the moment things are OK thank you :-)0

They have 35 days to respond to an appeal with either an acceptance and cancellation of the PCN, or a rejection and a POPLA code. The BPA Code of Practice requires PPCs to acknowledge receipt of the appeal within 14 days, but many overlook doing this. It's not a POPLA issue in terms of any eventual appeal, so I'd wait until almost 35 days are up before chasing this further. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If you have no reply after 35 days I would email aos@britishparking.co.uk to complain that they did not reply in the timescale.
So do nothing for now, wait for the 35 days.
The reason to complain is just in case they pretend they send a letter which got lost in the post.
You might also right now send a one liner
Dear Parking Company,
You stated you would reply within 14 days but have not. Please inform me of your new timescale.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
Hi all, so I had this cancelled without having to go to appeal. Basically I emailed them after I had not heard back within the 14 days they stated and the 35 days they should have, they ignored 3 separate emails so I started copying in the college into all correspondence as well as emailing the college direct informing them of the very underhand and questionable practices of the company they had employed. As I had predicted they would do, they claimed that their response and POPLA code had been sent but must have been lost ( therefore putting me over or very close the 28 day response time)
Anyhow , there was basically a lot of emails and making a pest of myself and in the end they cancelled.
I think so many of these companies rely on playing to people fears but reading this forum made me realise how shambolic they actually are and i felt very confident with my correspondence with them.. thanks for all the advice!0 -
Sorry, this will already have been said but...
It's 57 days from the day the PCN is slapped on the windscreen.
Or, as the act says, 28 days after 28 days after the day after the ticket is applied.
