That's £300 between the two of us. I can easily spend £200 a night myself in Glasgow so I don't think I'll have too much trouble spending that in a day in germany.

Jings, I'm guessing you like a bit of nasal stimulation to maintain your drinking stamina if a night out boozing in Glasgow costs that much?

£100 a day for food and drink would be enough for me, no need to drink a huge amount.

Id like to remember something like Oktoberfest.

A few pints and 20 double whiskeys ? Either you're trolling or you need to get in contact with Alcoholics Anonymous.

Surely he is trolling? Or does he want liver failure before he reaches 30?

I am going to Italy for a week very soon. I don't expect to spend more than £250 as flights/accommodation are paid for already. OK I drink very little but even so! £1400 between 2 is ample.

It would appear that Glasgow's reputation as being full of steaming drunks is not, as I assumed, simply urban myth ;)

Isnt the idea of beer festivals to enjoy different beers, i.e savour them whilst enjoying the entertainment provided, and not just getting smashed?

You might want to go have a look over the debtfree board before getting yourelf in to to much debt

If Barclays will only give you a card with a £250 limit then you're going to struggle to get more credit at a decent rate.

If you're planning to use your new credit cards to withdraw cash or to use them abroad as the charges for doing so can be incredibly high.

How are they incredibly stupid if they're 0% and I pay them off before they accrue any interest? What difference does it make if I save before or save after? I could afford to go with no loans at all but not interested in being frugal on holiday and would like some emergency funds available. Just applied for the Capital One card and got past the initial check. Just waiting for their in-depth check.

I'm going regardless (as I've already paid £1100 for flights & accommodation) so some actual advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Paying off your maxed-out overdraft would have been wiser. Expect to be further stung for £1000s when you are the subject of fraudulent transactions whilst drunk and/or stoned in a strip club.

Obviously assuming you aren't a troll; in which case, none of the lovely ladies of De Wallen will be going anywhere near you.

That's what my doctor said, went for an ultrasound and all is OK. (She demanded I get one when I told her how much I drank).

Now why on earth would your doctor do that?

I have a 27 year old son. He likes to go out and have a drink with his mates. I would be absolutely devastated if he told me he drank as much as you OP. This is just not normal, and it's very dangerous, however "big" you are.

I also have a friend whose husband has cirrhosis of the liver. He didn't drink as much as you do either. He is dying. Slowly. Is that the price you're prepared to pay for your drinking ? You might argue that it's not a regular occurrence, i'd argue that with those amounts, it will probably become one.

Forget the financial facts, what you're doing will have far more serious consequences than a severe lack of cash.
