Glad your scan has given you peace of mind. Good luck to DS with his GCSEs. Have a good half term.

Thank you Igamogam, Brizzle, Bob. It is such a relief. Scares like that do help put some perspective into the picture.

Thank you Robin and Verbatim, a big weight off my mind! Everything else feels more manageable now :)
Just under 8 weeks to go for the holiday! I have three very busy weeks to get through before I can start thinking about it.

Eco farmer- Thank you, that's really lovely of you. I promise you though it all feels very unremarkable from this side, but it has been a journey and a half. I do still think of your comment a few months ago about being so busy that grieving doesn't happen. At times it has felt like that/still feels like that, but being aware has helped :)
Hope all is well with you.

Hi, Just found your diary and will sub. We are at a similar debt level, so good to keep up with others on the same journey. I'll have a proper read at some point xx

Thanks and welcome Bigskies. It's a huge burden to carry isn't it? so much better shared :)
We have all made our choices along the journey, it is different for all of us and yet also the same. wishing you luck on yours :)

A bright day here so far :)
Volunteer work for several hours today plus meeting friend for coffee at garden centre, where I will also buy various cards I need for 2 birthdays, 2 thanks yous, new baby and new home.

Essential admin for SE work done this morning, letters ready to post, another invoice sent. dinner for tonight is already sorted (left overs from roast yesterday). Can't do anything in garden as back suffering from overdoing it over the weekend :(
Half way through week, where has the time gone? Going to see Mum tomorrow, will take her to see relative with new baby, who lives about 40 miles from her. Will also take some NHS equipment Dad had back to hospital near there. We should have done this ages ago, but just haven't had time up until now.

I am so behind on diaries :( sorry :) I will catch up eventually. At the moment just trying to keep head above water.
Dishwasher saga - decided after several more phone calls yesterday to call it quits and just buy a new one. Made a big mistake not buying a common manufacturer. Will go for bog standard simple push button controls with minimal programme choice. We have been without for best part of a year I think! Quotes varied from 230 - 350 to repair, with some offering fixed price repairs refusing to take it on. Frustration vented. Anyone want a very sleek looking virtually new dishwasher that doesn't work?! how can I upcycle it into a priceless piece of art of something?

Hope all is well with everyone :)

  • NOA - stick the dishwasher on ebay as spares and repairs, I've done that in the past with washing machines and usually got between £20-£40, its better than just giving it to the scrap man.

Pennywise, thank you , that's a great suggestion! I will take a look at similar ads and word something appropriately. Do you normally set a price yourself, or auction? Never really done much ebaying, though have always intended to. Between SE work and part time jobs and parents and kids, have never managed to find a chunk of time to list! One item is do-able though :)
Otherwise I'll have to pay for someone to take it when I get new one delivered:eek:

It's been a very busy weekend, also very unsettling, the news has been awful, first Manchester, now London again. Hope that all your friends/family/colleagues are safe. I just feel despair at how scrooood up these peoples minds must be to even contemplate let alone do such horrible things.

Back at work tomorrow, at least 2 more weeks full time at part time job. SE also going well, 3 more jobs accepted, all through referrals and repeat clients. So very grateful that work is ticking along nicely (fingers crossed it continues).
Need to make some family phone calls, then bed for me , even though its still so bright outside. My dad would be counting the days to the longest day, even though he couldn't see.
    Night Night and sweet dreams.

Lovely to catch up on your news. You sound good which is fab.

London, Manchester, Paris..it's awful. Hateful. Makes me even more determined to bear witness to that we have more in common than that which makes us different. I felt desperate when Jo Cox was killed by a raving madman, I am now increasingly angry about these raving madmen...plan on not changing anything. In fact one of the reasons for visiting Paris last Autumn was bloody mindedness!!

    Have a good week

  • Morning NOA.

I put them on an auction, probably £5 starting price. At least then you get a few pounds and someone takes it away. Better than paying someone else to take it for you.
