I got the same as well but I think it's probably a standard email. If they refund my card and I get to keep the evoucher , I'll have paid nothing so I can't really complain. Would have preferred the box set though.

I've just received shrek 2 instead of the boxset. I have emailed them as I didn't receive an email from them telling me this or offering a £2 voucher. I only ever get order confirmations from them never despatch ones, I wonder if they get blocked by AOL

Yes all of their emails get blocked by AOL. They are trying to solve this problem with AOL.

I too received Shrek 2 with no email explanation. When I checked order tracking it clearly stated they had dispatched the boxset, I ordered mine 5th May so hoped I would get it as some of you folks ordered after this date and got the boxset no problem.

Called 'em and they just offered to send an envelope so I could send Shrek 2 back as this was a 'warehouse' picking mistake, and they will refund my £3.99 in full. Suggested this was a little lame and they agreed to send vouchers as gesture of goodwill...Pfttt!

Not happy....I am thinking because I used discount vouchers that got it down to £3.99 they decided to put my order near the bottom of the pile! The fact they took payment on 6th May suggests my money is as goodas everybody else's so they should have honoured the order.

Bit bummed out...but then again...you win some you lose some :D

I used my discount vouchers to get if to £3.99 and got my order, so don't think they were sending discounted orders to bottom of the pile. It seems that CDWOW have been fairly good considering the circumstances with this one. Always found that their customer service is excellent.

Unfortunately I think this offer was ruined for everyone by a handful of greedy people. When I saw this my mentality was great offer I'll order one for myself. Some people thought great offer they'll order a shedload and try and make a fortune on eBay. Thats probably whats caused all the stock confusion for CDWOW. Its a shame, if people weren't so greedy, everyone would probably have been able to have one.

Got my copies of Shrek 2 today - despite email saying I would get both, and dispatch email saying the same. Office now closed so have to wait until Monday to call for refund.

i totally agree with bagand96....i was lucky and i got my copy of the box and my little son loves it but i felt sad that many people missed on this offer because of some greedy people decided to order more than one copy to sell it on ebay...anyway even the prices on ebay are coming down so i hope that they will not be able to sell them and i bet you then they will be after cdwow for a refund

think you can only send them back if they faulty.. unless they unopened..
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.
  • I ordered a single copy of Boxset Shrek 1 & 2 on the 9th May and received an email on the 11th indicating that they have exhausted their copies of it and were sending me a copy of Shrek 2 and a £2 e-voucher instead.

Despite getting a depatch note for B/S Shrek 1 & 2 ... I received a copy of Shrek 2 only, today, in additon to this the label on the front was for Shrek 1 & 2 hence tallies up with the dispatch note but not the contents.

I sent them an email as I'm somewhat aggrieved that they have taken it upon themselves to substitute an item without giving me an option of a refund, this contravenes their own T&Cs! Don't get me wrong they're an efficient and excellent organisation (and my preferred supplier of DVDS) however I feel they have messed up here.

I'd also have to agree with bagand96. Some may say that this is sour grapes in that I didn't get a copy. I'm a capitalist as much as the next person however I wouldn't abuse any of the offers I see here. After all this is a moneysaving website and NOT a moneymaking one.
