lodger issues

Ask the police to attend as you "fear a breach of the peace". Coppers know FA about civil law as their specialist knowledge and training is in the criminal law. Mentioning a breach of the peace should get their attention. And so should the drugs.0

What about speaking calmly and politely to the lodger?
Make a cup of tea for you both.
Explain that you don't feel it's working out and that it would be better for all parties if they left.
If he doesn't leave, or becomes difficult, THEN mention the drugs.
He may leave quietly, in order to avoid any problems with the police.
Once you've told the police about the drugs, then you have no cards left to play. Don't waste your advantage.
Usually, the threat of action is more effective than the actual action.

I'll be even more blunt
You are an owner occupier. You have already admitted you know or believe one lodger to be smoking drugs and one to be dealing drugs yet you ALLOW them to stay by not throwing them out. In essence you have "suffered" the drug use.

It's a no brainier - chuck them out and change the locks today.

thank for being blunt, but without evidence i cannot accuse them of dealing, so i willl phone the police tomorrow to ask then to attend while the eviction takes place as i believe there is a high chance of threatening behavour, if they are not able to attend i will have to see who i can get as witnesses to the eviction so once threatening behavour has occurred the police ill become involved, thanks.
You must have some evidence, even if it is only the evidence of your own eyes. Everyone here has given you the same advice, including changing the locks, yet you still seem to want to act if a different way.
It is highly unlikely the police will attend "while the eviction takes place", and even if they do they might find cannabis in YOUR house which you have not reported and charge you with possession.
Follow the advice given multiple times already.0 -

Most likely the police will not attend.
If they do, and cannabis is found, they will arrest the home-owner.
As advised multiple times, report the drug use to the police. This will
a) make your eciction easier and
b) PROTECT YOU from arrest0 -
Also to add to the above, you dont need a reason to evict.

they have left and damaged my property, they have stolen a bike, tried to break into my room, left a heater on in another room with the window open, left dog !!!! all over the house, did not clean the room after leaving, left nails in the washing machine.
i have changed the locks now, but they are demanding there deposit back, i told them where to go, but as i have not used the deposit scheme they are trying to go to council etc.
am glad they are now gone.0 -

depsoit scheme does not apply to lodgers. Ignore this threat. And ignore 'the council'.
report the bike theft (and any others) to the police.
calculate the cost of cleaning, repairing etc item by item. Then send a letter/email etc to them asking them to pay the difference between your costs and the deposit, or offering to return the difference (if it is less) provided they accept this as 'ful and final settlement.'0 -
