hi everyone hope your all well.
tonight I was online window shopping it what's left of the sales. put a few items in my 'basket' got to the checkout and before putting my card details in walked away ... it wasn't stuff we needed so glad I walked away and my money is still safely in my bank instead of being wasted on clothes that would be at the bottom of drawers.

I'm quiet proud of this. small steps will make a difference :)

the kitchen is nearly done just the cupboards to paint when I can pluck up the courage to spend money at the store. (I've been stopping myself a lot lately on unnecessary spends)

I have a few up cycling projects to get underway over the next few weeks. most of them will stop us replacing things with new items costing a small fortune (to me anyway) and selling our old stuff for next to nothing.

I like that I am getting back to my old-style and frugal ways. Just got to teach the OH the ropes a bit more.

I need to find out If eb@y are doing free listings anytime soon as I have lots to sell but no luck on local sale sites

I have made a few purchases today
bedding set for ds1 in the sale £3
some curtains from charity shop for £5 hoping to have enough material to up cycle my kitchen blinds and maybe even a matching table cloth

all in all it hasn't been a bad day except ds1 being poorly this morning but he seemed better this evening

im off to bed shortly after reading a few more posts/pages on here for inspiration :money:

eta to we even did fish and chips fakeout at home instead of buying take out :) its the little things that can help us make a big difference to our future the funny thing is I enjoy trying to save money as much as possible even if it isn't sat in my bank and its just ways ive made sure not to spend more than I need to on anything

  • Evening all, i have posted on the 'what do you want to achieve in 2015 thread' but wanted to post it here so i dont 'loose it'

    my goals are :
    1. save £1000 in emergency fund (£50 so far)
    2. raise £1000 for charity (skydive booked)
    3. start and finish decorating (kitchen nearly done. living room next)
    4. save £8000 towards house deposit fund (£1200 so far)
    5. live a more frugal life, be more money savvy (im trying but need to try harder) (some great threads and tips across mse to help me)
    6. stick to budget (this needs work)
    7. start college (application form and 1st interview done. accepted a place second interview next week)
    200 weeks £25,000.00 / £700

just woodwork doors flooring and finishing touches and each room will be finished

spends today. fuel, bananas magazine (which included free seeds comps and ill be sending off for the growing kit which is £6 to cover postage) milk and eggs total spend £31

got £20 pending in tcb which I know could take upto a few months

father in law Is dropping me off tomorrow for college interview so that will save me on parking costs and will avoid taking my purse as its in town and otherwise I will end up buying things I have no room or use for :)

  • starting to finally fall in love with our 'home' after 3 years of living here. although we still defiantly want to buy and move in the future its nice to have a 'home' rather than a roof over our head' type feeling. amazing what a bit of time and some paint can do. still a while off getting it all just right but it gives me great pleasure knowing what It was like before and seeing it all done at the end, also makes me less worried about buying somewhere in the future that needs a lot of cosmetic work and love put back into it which is great as a few months ago I wouldn't of had the confidence to buy anything that didn't look less than perfect which I know we would pay a 'premium' for

got a few items ending on ebay tonight. one has bids so will post as soon as its finished and payment is received

I will be checking accounts towards the end of the week, and will hopefully be able to transfer something

today has been a good day. I had another interview at college and got accepted onto the course there and then :) so officially will be a student again in march so happy.
my brother also passed his theory today after the 5th attempt so glad hes done it and proud of him for not giving up
my son read his TWO school books with no help from me. it gave me a funny feeling in my tummy and I was bursting with pride hes already moved up a few levels in his reading but seems to be coming on leaps and bounds lately.

overall although its not financially related today has been a great day :D

hope everyone Is well. for anyone that wants one or needs one sending hugs.

im off to sort baby now and get more listed on ebay before getting ready for bed night all x
