I've been with Orange for 10 years (monthly bills approx £30)and upgraded my phone 23rd June and was transferred to EE. My bill for July was £303 and August £547 !!! I was gobsmacked !!!

There have been over 300 calls made EVERY day since June 23rd to 8th August. All the calls were made from Spain, Gibralter and UAE to numbers in China USA UAE Gibralter Spain and the UK ! I have not been to any of these countries - other than a 10 day holiday 1st to 10th July when i was in Majorca and made about 5 phone calls to my family and a few texts. I even bought the bundles whilst there to use the internet.

To date I have emailed 3 times and spoke to customer service on 150 about 10 times in the last 2 weeks. I am being told that I am responsible for these bills as the SIM card is unique to me and that the calls have been made from my phone !!!

They say there is nothing more that I can do and that I have to pay these bills !! I have now filed a complaint with CISAS. When I suggested my SIM card had been cloned or duplicated they say this is impossible ! it obviously is not !

The bills do not show any of the calls that I have actually made myself - however on the 28th July there is a call that I made to an 0800 number and this is shown as it is out of my allowance. The call was made by myself at 5pm to Tesco whilst I was in Manchester .... and on the same day there have been 7 calls made from my phone in Spain!!!! It does not take a genius to work out that there is obvious fraud but they refuse to accept this !!!!!!!!!

EE customer service is appalling - you cannot speak to anyone in charge - you cannot speak to anyone in fraud or complaints department. They are a phone company but you cannot speak to them on the phone because they are off line and have to be emailed !

I have cancelled the DD at the bank so they will not be able to take the money but I am very concerned that this is going to affect my credit rating.

Email their CEO. If you phone their main switchboard, they will give you the details.

Have you made/received any calls in UK between June 23rd and Aug 8th?
    Sent texts? Used mobile data?

What happened to the old Orange sim?

  • I had big problems when I changed from T mobile to EE on a data only sim. A bill of £6684.12 to be exact (normally £10)! Eventually it was sorted, with the help of a very helpful and sympathetic guy in my local ee store. None of the other assistants or customer services were interested.
I informed them that the bill was in dispute, and cancelled the direct debit.
It did initially show on my credit report as a dispute (not a default) , but was later removed when the bill was corrected.
Keep on at them and try to get a member of staff on board, they can do all the talking for you.

Hi I did make phone calls/texts myself during this time but they are not showing on my bill ! The only one that shows is the call to Tesco on the 0800 number - when again there are also calls in Spain that day.

I emailed the CEO of EE last night - I've also given my bills to a guy that works in a local EE store - hoping that this will finally get resolved ! Stressed.com !

Thanks. I was following the Holmes "eliminate the impossible" idea.
    Good luck with your bill.

I emailed the CEO last night - not heard anything yet - typical of EE customer service :(
