Millennium Parking Services

Options
Advice would be much appreciated!

I received a Parking Charge Notice from Millennium Parking Services whilst visiting a friend who has purchased a property with 2 parking spaces.

My friend has bought a flat including two parking spaces; the second space is currently under construction and while I was visiting, I parked in the undesignated visitors spacs.

I then received a Parking Charge Notice for 'contravention as set out on the signage' by Millennium Parking Services. I do not know how to proceed with the fine of £60 within 14 days or £100 within 28 days.

A previous thread suggests that tickets from this company ought to be ignored, but I am reluctant to do this without some more conviction.

Please advise me!

Ignoring has not been advised for a long time now.

Start by reading the Newbies Sticky carefully - it contains all the up to date info on your situation and how to see them off.

Post-up your challenge/appeal here if you need further help. :)

You just wait for the first letter, then appeal, exactly as the top thread tells you already. You have read old threads if you read about ignoring PCNs.

    Is it this lot:

    http://www.mill-group.com/bos.html

A random bunch of 'door supervisors' who may well have been clampers back in the day before that became a criminal offence. Easy to beat at POPLA I am certain. Read the top thread and follow the template appeal route ONLY when you get the first letter (Notice to Keeper or whatever form it takes).

As long as you are the keeper - but then that's already covered in the top thread too.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes that is the right one. Is this company one of the ones which will send the NTK? How can I be sure? I've searched the other threads to see and it doesn't say whether they will send the NTK. Also, if I wait for the NTK, I will surpass the 14 day period to pay the lesser amount.

If you do as you are advised you will end up paying the grand total of £0.00.

There are times when I wish the BPA etc did not insist on a discount for early payment. It would remove the fear that of a person doesn't do something quickly then they will be worse off.

As Bazter says, you will not have to pay a penny if you follow the advice here.

If they don't send you a compliant NTK, then you have another reason to beat them at POPLA along with reasons to complain to BPA etc. So just be patient.
Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.

We don't know what letter they will send but how does that matter? The first letter to keeper (whatever they call it, even a debt collector letter) means the keeper can appeal, and the keeper is the one with the strongest position for POPLA appeal. So wait and see and if when you appeal as keeper (using the forum template in the sticky thread) you get a rejection with no POPLA code you just complain to the BPA and you will then get a code.
Also, if I wait for the NTK, I will surpass the 14 day period to pay the lesser amount.
How exactly does that matter?! :)

I have just learnt that a visitors/residents permit needed to be displayed which had not been done. Do I stand a chance?

I suppose the aim is to identify who is allowed to use the space - since I am, why should I pay the fine as it was an honest mistake.

For goodness sake haven't you been doing research into this? Have you read the newbies thread? This lot are not going to do anything beyond writing letters ! Wait for the NtK to arrive then appeal. I'm going to take a look at this place in a couple of days to see if they are compliant with their signs
