Back from the amazing Vegas!! Have a little money left over which is a pleasant surprise, have now paid holiday credit card off except for the Resort Fee from the hotel which is about £160 and hasn't been applied yet so will pay that as soon as it shows up! Holiday fund is going into house account now, not going abroad next year and have already paid for a cottage for a week which we bunged on the 0%credit card. Have had a quote to get rid of the caravan which was £1400, have asked how much without having to destroy the chassis as we may be able to re-use this in the future, or just tip it upside down and cover the area with flowers! So money left is probably going to go towards this and £200 a month has been diverted from holiday to house to help with all the stuff we want to do.

Plan this week for rest of AL:
    1. Work out exactly what is left from the hols and see how house account is looking.
2.Wait for second quote and decide if it is worth it to be rid of the caravan (won't fit out of drive, was put in through neighbours garden many years ago and it now has trees in the way!!)
    3. Look at current Credit card balance and decide whether to up monthly payment or not (paying over minimum payment already), can tart it again for another 0% when needed.
    4. Look for some painters for quotes, chase original person who gave good quote!
    5. Start to plant 300 privet hedges that arrived!! Big job!

Should keep us busy, weather is a bit pants though luckily the storms haven't caused damage. The dogs were picked up by my dad yesterday and got bathed when we got back from the airport as they were super smelly! Looking and smelling good now though! Do love being at home with hubby and the furbabies!

Making the most of annual leave, though super tired with jet lag, stayed awake til gone three am, made myself get up at 8am...feeling tired and grumpy but enjoying being at home! Quick update on the list from yest:
    1. Work out exactly what is left from the hols and see how house account is looking. House account is now at £1800 with holiday funds, holiday credit card is completely paid off now so should incur no charges but will double check before interest is added to make sure I haven't missed anything!
2.Wait for second quote and decide if it is worth it to be rid of the caravan (won't fit out of drive, was put in through neighbours garden many years ago and it now has trees in the way!!) Quote of £960 and agreed £900, with awkward narrow drive can only hire small skips at over £100 a time and I imagine it would take a great many of these to empty a two bedroom mobile home full of stuff! Plus its been a hard slog emptying it to the point it is now...
    3. Look at current Credit card balance and decide whether to up monthly payment or not (paying over minimum payment already), can tart it again for another 0% when needed. Not done this yet, hubby will check this at some point!
    4. Look for some painters for quotes, chase original person who gave good quote! Hubby's friend who gave the good quote is coming round again tonight to see the rooms again and give another quote, it was quite cheap last time so expecting it may be more this time...
    5. Start to plant 300 privet hedges that arrived!! Big job! Have hired a micro digger for next weekend at £120inc VAT as we started trying to dig today and of course the previous owners have buried rubble all around the front part so its super hard to dig, this way it means we should get it done in a day and I will only sulk a little bit!

Outgoings from house fund so far: £1020 which takes me under the 1k buffer I like (have separate savings as well as emergency fund) but will be adding around £400 next pay day so will begin to build up again, not sure how much for the painting now, definately want the lounge and hallway painting before Christmas if not everywhere else but costs will affect this. Feels good to not be saving for another big holiday even though I do love a big hol, will stick to places in the UK next year with the doggies!

    Thanks Monie! Your very kind!

    1. Work out exactly what is left from the hols and see how house account is looking. Completed!
2.Wait for second quote and decide if it is worth it to be rid of the caravan (won't fit out of drive, was put in through neighbours garden many years ago and it now has trees in the way!!) Completed in one day! Well worth the money!
    3. Look at current Credit card balance and decide whether to up monthly payment or not (paying over minimum payment already), can tart it again for another 0% when needed. Hubby will check on his work computer this week.
    4. Look for some painters for quotes, chase original person who gave good quote! Hubby's friend will start painting this coming weekend, not confirmed cost yet!
    5. Start to plant 300 privet hedges that arrived!! Big job! Have hired a micro digger for next weekend at £120exc VAT, deposit also paid for and they will take fuel costs out of this as they get it cheaper than we can!

Have been very bad at looking after my physical health so have ordered an elliptical trainer which will arrive next week, hoping the cost will spur me to use it often! Will weigh in tomorrow and start MFP again.

Have decided to do the 52week savings challenge with hubby, will do the first two weeks with the most expensive, then the last two with the cheaper payments, ie £52, £51, £1 and £2, to try and make it feel less intrusive as I do save a little already and am paying the 0%credit card back for the cardio machine as well!

After reading Goldiegirls diary I have decided to up my contributions to the pension scheme at work as well, I feel like I have no understanding in this area but this seems a good place to start!

In house news forgot to say that when we got back from Viva Las Vegas (weather was so nice compared to here!!) our gas bottles from June were empty (we have four bottles so they automatically switch over when one lot is empty) and we have replaced them. Interested to see how long they last now we have the heating on! Love how warm this lounge is compared to our old house, still only heating to 18degrees but its enough!

All the rain has turned our field into a pond...urgh! Dogs love it and dive through all the mud, makes drying time very grumpy!! Bought extra paint for the hallway today, it has gone up in price to £35 a tin...ouch! Better look good!

Has been a nice day off today but spendy, managed to pop my tire yesterday so had to replace it today, mid range tire £50.95, went to Mataland and did some shopping, got money off in the sale and used a voucher, good stuff! Also got two awesome giant stockings that are red and white for Christmas!! Cant wait til the first when we can put up the tree!

    1st December before Payment- £178,715.85
    After- £177,472.10
    LTV- 91.01%
    Daily Interest- £25.13
    Overall Interest- £753.89
    OP- £310
    Capital Paid-£488.86

Feels like a very disappointing mortgage day, for some reason the daily interest has gone back up to £25.13 a day and I have no idea why, last month it was in the 23's...Wondering if this is normal but I have missed it before?! Will need to keep a close eye as it could mean we might miss April's target! Edit: worked out LTV and next month we should break into the 90's!!

Oh I do love Christmas!! Had our lounge painted so its nice and fresh, tree and decs are up! Spent £100 on presents for the dogs and ferret, this was reduced from £150 and includes a dog pool on offer, our other one sprung a leak and was very loved so will be worth it, also bought a load of coloured balls to fill in the winter!!

Hallway and lounge look great, will decide on other colours for the other rooms over the next few weeks and they will be freshened up in January! Looked on Zoopla and they think the house might now be worth £201000, 6k more than we paid which is nice to know! Not so fussed about this at the moment, happy to work off out valuation until we remortgage and if we stick with N@west then wont need one doing at all!

Been a while! Had a great time for hubbys birthday on an activity day, turns out I am good at archery and clay pigeon shooting! We did 4x4, tank and quad biking as well, amazing day out!

Other than that I have been worried about the increase in interest that appeared last month...debating ringing them but worried its just my maths!

So to make sure I definitely get into the next bracket I will send another over payment out for January!
