Noise from neighbour - whether to complain to council
Comments
-
This looks to be what, collectively, a number of us have said already. It bears repetition. There are no smart answers or quick fixes
Thank you for the precis.
You're welcome.
But rather than a precis, I call it cutting the wheat from the chaff and presenting it from the perspective of the OP who, after all, is the one seeking advice here (not the parent of the errant child).
The emphasis is different.Mornië utulië0 -
Update. Noise went on fairly consistently till November then got better and has been as bad again since February. We've reported it to the council many, many times but they're doing nothing even though the police have also been round several times. There is already another case open from another tenant and the mum has been round to apologise. The council and ASB team have spoken to her which she says she understands why but shes pretty certain they won't move her.
The daughter is 22 and shows no sign of calming down even now she's settled into a routine. I have no idea what to do, its been a miserable 9 months. Do I get our solicitor to send a letter? I don't know how to escalate things. I've written to our local MP and no reply.0 -
How about asking your local councillor for assistance?0
-
Yes I have, I rang his office and was told to send an email and he would reply within 28 days. That was over 28 days ago.0

Actually wait I wrote to my local MP, looks like councillors are different (there are 3?!). Have I done the wrong thing?0

True, he just got 60% of the vote so I don't think he was too worried..0
